Pakistan Lift Ban on Malik

Re: Pakistan Lift Ban on Malik

I wish I can say that I am surprised but I am not. Pakistan cricket is in such a bizarre state. Political interference and personalities have all but destroyed them. I wonder whether this will become a precedent which could lead to other banned players coming back?

Did anyone not see this coming? Pakistan are as soft as butter when it comes to discipline. Whilsit I believe that the penalties were ridiculous and shouldn't have occured, the PCB never seem to be able to stikc to any sort of penalty they give out to players.

Cricket over there really is at the crossroads at the moment.

They always want to be seen to be doing something so they rush into handing out blanket bans or instituting inquiries, (they really are more politicians than sports administrators) which they then can't stick with.

And the rumours around the players' behaviour towards each other and off-field is soap opera level.

I find them very entertaining to follow as you never know what is going to happen. Can you imagine any other cricket board 'rewarding' a player who had so openly ball-tampered, and in such a bizarre manner, with the test captaincy 3 months later? They are almost admirable in that parallel universe they inhabit.
