Pakistan were bowled out for 268 after being 2/214 at one stage. Pat Cummins (5/56) and Mitch Starc (4/33) did the damage, taking nine wickets between them to completely turn the game around after Pakistan were cruising at one stage with what was an impressive display of swing bowling. Abdullah Shafique scored 81, Azhar Ali scored 78 while Babar Azam notched 67 but that was all of note for the Pakistani side. In reply, Australia are 0/11, leading by 134 runs.

A big day tomorrow for both sides, Australia will be looking for runs at a decent rate to bring about a lead while Pakistan are searching for quick wickets on day four to restrict the Australian lead.
 
Starc went wicketless for 250 deliveries before he conjued some reverse swing with his skipper in the final session and now has Australia in the prime position with two days play remaining. I know I am harsh on Starc but he lacks consistency. He is, tho, world class when he finds swing.. specially fast, late swing. Australia now has a handy lead but will need to produce a similar score to the first to feel safe and then hope our bowlers can again conjure some reverse swing or our spinners will be given some assistance from this dead track.
 
A thrilling finish to the day's play. Pakistan started the day at 0/73 and seemingly had a shot at chasing down the target of 351. Cameron Green struck early on the last day to remove Abdullah Shafique for 27 and Azhar Ali fell to Nathan Lyon for 17 but Pakistan had progressed to 2/142 and seemingly looked relatively comfortable in their progress. However, Lyon claimed the wicket of Imam-ul-Haq and then Pat Cummings trapped both Fawad Alam and Mohammad Rizwan LBW to leave Pakistan at 5/167.

The wicket of Babar Azam proved pivotal with Lyon taking his wicket for 55 as Pakistan fell to 6/213. The tail followed soon afterwards as Pakistan were dismissed for 235 with Australia winning by 115 runs and claiming the series 1-0. Imam-ul-Haq top scored for Pakistan with 70 while Babar Azam's 55 saw those two as the only batters to score more than 28 in Pakistan's second innings

Pat Cummins was named Player of the Match for his 5/56 and 3/23 while Usman Khawaja's tally of 496 runs across the series saw him named Player of the Series.

The series now heads to Lahore for three ODI's and one T20I which begin with the first ODI on Thursday.

This my take of who were what.

Outstanding: Khawaja. MOTS.

Good: Cummins, Lyon, Smith, Carey, Green.

Pass marks: Labuchagne, Warner, Starc.

Fails: Head, Swepson.
 
The first ODI is on at the moment. Mitch Marsh is missing for Australia with injury while Ashton Agar is out for the ODI series having contracted COVID-19 as has Josh Inglis, the Australian team physio has also contracted the virus as well.

Zahid Mehmood and Mohammad Wasim Jr are on debut for Pakistan while Nathan Ellis and Mitchell Swepson also debut for Australia.

Pakistan won the toss and elected to field. Australia started well and raced to 0/110 in the 15th over before Aaron Finch was dismissed, Travis Head got himself to a quickfire century off 70 balls but was out five balls later for 101, caught in the deep in what was a pretty poor shot.

Australia are currently 5/243 from 42 overs with Cameron Green and Marcus Stoinis at the crease.

Australia finish at 7/313 from their 50 overs. In addition to Travis Head's century, Ben McDermott scored his maiden ODI half-century with 55 before running himself out while Cameron Green hit 40 not out from 30 balls late to lift Australia over 300, perhaps a bit short of what they were hoping for given their quick start.

Haris Rauf was Pakistan's best bowler with 2/44 from eight overs but didn't bowl his full allotted quota of 10 overs. Zahid Mahmood claimed 2/59 on debut from his 10 overs.

Should be a good chase you'd think, the pitch is good and there's a possibility of dew later on. Lahore has been very hot today so we'll see if that happens later this evening.
 
Australia won the second ODI quite easily in the end with Pakistan bowled out for 225 as Australia won by 88 runs. Imam-ul-Haq scored a fine century opening the innings with 103 and Babar Azam made 57 but that was about it from a Pakistan batting point of view. The dismissal of Azam saw regular wickets fall and in the end, Pakistan fell some way short of Australia's total.

For Australia, Adam Zampa claimed 4/38 (10 overs) to be the best of the bowlers, Travis Head finished with 2/35 (six overs) courtesy of his part-time off-spin, Mitchell Swepson finished with 2/53 from 8.2 overs on debut while Nathan Ellis also debuted well with 1/36 from eight overs.

Game two is in Lahore tomorrow.
 
The second ODI is on today. Pakistan the toss and elected to bowl. One change for Pakistan with Shaheen Shah Afridi replacing of Hasan Ali, Australia go into the game unchanged.

Australia are 4/279 after 42 overs. Ben McDermott score a maiden ODI century with 104, Travis Head made 89 while Marnus Labuschagne scored 55.
 
Australia finish at 8/348 from their 50 overs. Late hitting from Marcus Stoinis (49 from 33 balls) and Sean Abbott (28 from 16 balls) lifts Australia to a pretty decent total. Shaheen Shan Afridi was the best with the ball for Pakistan taking 4/63 from his 10 overs while Mohammad Wasim Jnr claimed 2/55 off 10 overs as well.

The pitch is a good one for batting so Pakistan will have a chance to chase this down once the dinner break has finished.
 
Aussies were eyeing a possible 400 at over 30.

Our quicks took two wickets theirs took 6. Reason for that imo.. they have superior white ball bowlers. I rate only Nathan Ellis as a specialist white ball bowler in this present attack.. perhaps Stoinis but that is it. When Kane Richardson pulled out thru injury CA needed to replace him with AJ Tye.. another specialist not the over rated Abbott or whoever was his replacement.
 
Another belting for us. Our attack has no teeth. Ellis seems to be only one to take wickets. Even the spinners bombed out in this match.
 
Australia finished off their Pakistan tour with a win in the only T20 match. Ellis again the main wicket taker. He, Inglis, Green and McDermott will form the nucleus of our white ball side for the next decade.
