not sure how he defended it from up there!

Re: Personal Cricket Photography!

How many ml lens have you got? Dad took some shots with a 420 ml lens or something, it's pretty awesome.

Re: Personal Cricket Photography!

well belive it or not they are taken with a 200 mm canon lense nothing fancy its something like a f4. I'd love a new lens but want a new Body first

Re: Personal Cricket Photography!

I like the one with the bails coming off - because you can see the puff of dust in front of him where the ball pitched.

The picture of the guy taking the run is good too, as is the cut, good work all round I'd say!!! :)

Re: Personal Cricket Photography!

He was bowled legside as well! Not bad for an opening batsmen!

but to be fair this was a grudge match where we were fighting for promotion, and the "watford" team had draughted their div 1 players in to win, and they were swinging it a country mile!

Re: Personal Cricket Photography!

Gotta love the guy scratching his nads

Great photos. Really came out sharp. My favourites are the cut shot and the one where the guy is starting to run. But all of them are great, can't wait till the next installment! :D

Oh and your grounds look beautiful, nothing compared to the lumps of sand I play on :p

Re: Personal Cricket Photography!

So he wasn't smacked in the mouth then .

You get some great moments, although I feel one or too could benefit from better framing, but that's not to distract from them.

It'll be interesting to see what Dave has to say\offer.

Re: Personal Cricket Photography!

Thanks for the comments:

I would like to point out that these are "raw" photos so to speak. they have not been touched and are as they came from the original shots. Some of them need cropping and tweaking, but i dont have time for that as it is only a part time hobby with a basic DSLR.

i will be taking the camera to mroe games this year...... :D

Re: Personal Cricket Photography!

I think one tip to help take better 'basic' photos is to try to work to the rule of thirds. Saying that though, its not always easy to do that when capturing action shots.

Re: Personal Cricket Photography!

ive always found its better to work on capturing the shot in focus first then crop later! i would like the luxury of a faster shutter speed and better lens but they will have to wait!

Re: Personal Cricket Photography!

I'm no photographer and I've always thought that actions shots are taken on the action.

Let's see what others come up with over the summer, I'll try to upload some ifI can get a few good ones.

Re: Personal Cricket Photography!
