Personal Cricket Photography!

Re: Personal Cricket Photography!

i do love a read of the mags its just a shame they are now so expensive!

oh and i have bought my Canon EOS-40D i just cant have it till monday! on my birthday!

if only i could find where the girlfriend has hidden it!

Re: Personal Cricket Photography!

It's cloudy at the moment and the weather's crap so don't worry. Savour the moment when you get the camera and hope there's some light!

Re: Personal Cricket Photography!

Second pin-hole camera attempt turned out way over-exposed, god damn it's hard to work out how long it should be left out for! I think it turned out way too over-exposed because it was directly facing the direction of the sun.

I'm slowly learning what my camera can do. I can make certain colours different colours and make the whole picture gray apart from 1 colour. It's great, I'll show you some of it later.

Are you using colour photo-paper in your camera? That's pretty advanced if you are! Or are you using film?

Re: Personal Cricket Photography!

Nah just photographic paper in black and white.

The last part I meant my G9.

Re: Personal Cricket Photography!

As the name of the forum suggests;Would love to see photos posted by each of the member's.
I would try to update this thread regularly with photos taken from my Mobile Camera as well.

Let us keep this thread alive by posting photos taken by our own mobile or digital camera.
Hopefully;Dave can post his comment on that :)

Re: Personal Cricket Photography!

You know Virender, I've always maintained that sports photography is difficult and requires specialist equipment e.g. longer lenses. A relatively short lens 400mm with a wide-ish aperture 2.8 would suit cricket but look at what you have to pay for one - http://www.campkinsonline.com/Produ...roogle/productID/694/groupID/11/categoryID/24

A few more - http://www.google.co.uk/products?hl=en&q=Nikon+400mm+F2&um=1&ie=UTF-8

Anyway ignoring that and with nearly 20 years of photography behind me I thought I'd give it a go - not expecting much. Strewth they came out crap!

You can see some of them at www.mpafirsteleven.blogspot.com but don't hold your breath! The main problem is the light it's pretty poor here in the uk and you end up shooting too slow a shutter speed. Anyway I'm hoping 3rd time lucky - next time I'll have a 300mm lens and a big Muvva of a tripod - that part of it possibly sorted the next difficult bit is the timing. So far I've been okay to rubbish with this aspect of it, but I'm optimistic. We'll see what happens and if I get some good uns I may post them here.

Check this one out - http://www.digitalrev.com/en/sigma-...dg-w-400-1000mm-f5-dot-6-attachment-3584.html

More realistic is this one - http://www.microglobe.co.uk/catalog...photo&osCsid=c216418088c05f7e4ffdd0d7f6e296af

But it's still going to struggle using 100 iso or 200 iso in anything but a blue sky sunny day. Sports photography is very specialist so all the pictures shot by "Stumped" using his little Canon lens have got to be highly commended - he's doing a lot better than I am so far!!!!

Stumped - I just looked at your pictures again. Mate - they are fantastic! How on earth did you get so close? You must have been shooting at a higher iso as well?

Re: Personal Cricket Photography!

sorry for the delay in replying! have been away! was hoping for some nice shots of the isle of wight! but the weather was pants.......

as previously said i only use a 200mm F5.6 lens. To be fair some of the shots were at a ground with a very short boundary! some have been cropped a little but not to much as my EOS 350D only had 8 mega pixels.

I have taken some more pics recently of some cricket i will try and post them when i get to work!

Re: Personal Cricket Photography!

I took some great photos Saturday evening at a women's only Glitz and Glamour evening in support of Breast Cancer. 300 women and the only men present were the waiters; the local cricket team. They started off topless [the waiters], just bow ties, collar and cuffs. The photos are of them doing the full monty. I didn't look  [honest]

I love cricketers... such sports :D

Re: Personal Cricket Photography!

i was about to ask to see the pics but something tells me it was more like a chippendales evening!

Re: Personal Cricket Photography!

More of a 'moment' than an 'evening' ::)

Not sure you would appreciate the photos...

...unless like me, you study anatomy :D

Hi Tom,

Nice photos.
I have started a new thread w.r.t Photos & videos where our members can post and share with us their photos and videos.
Can u post it there.

Re: Personal Cricket Photography!

I think this should be kept for cricket photos and the other thread for general photos.

Tom, I love the last one! Probably because there is stuff in the background other than grass. Love it!

Looks a great ground, too.

Re: Personal Cricket Photography!

Re: Personal Cricket Photography!
