I make no secret of the fact I dislike the whole overseas players fad and I would think the same no matter who I played for. You may see that as a negative attitude, however I contend that it is in fact, far more of a positive attitude than anyone else. I've never thought we required the help of any import to win games. Fact; we won a flag without imports, we missed finals and have been relegated with them.

So who's more negative; the people who believe we need an import to bolster the club, or the man who thinks we have enough talent and skill to achieve success without that expenditure?

Oh and as for the skipper. I think he's a great bloke, an excellent captain and a real pleasure to have around the club. I have nothing but praise for him and hope he stays around the club for many more years.

you didn't win any flags without imports pal...
I'm fairly sure the season you won a flag you recruited 3 senior very important members of that side. They may not have been international imports however imports nevertheless.

In fairness, I'm sure they'll be ok.

The other thing I would say is it would be very hard to attract top talent to the club at the moment. The need to get their house in order before they're attractive to guys coming out of the district system or top subbies/local cricketers.

Yeh, so? I am talking specifically about international imports, but nice try on building a straw man argument.

You cant attract people to a club when you have the wrong people in charge. You only need to look at how many clubs each of them have played for to know there average people to build a culture around.
 
Concerns about cost are ridiculous. Council get these things called rates, which they should be using for the community. I'm sure if it was a left wing cause the councils would be throwing money at it since they are infested with wannabe labor party members and lefty fools.
