Quadrangular Series 2007 (Ireland, Netherlands, Scotland, West Indies)

Re: Quadrangular Series 2007 (Ireland, Netherlands, Scotland, West Indies)

Ireland are 5/160 in the 44th over. Pretty slow going by the Irish and they've battled hard to this point. Niall O'Brien is 52 not out at this point and the only other significant scorer is Andre Botha with 42.

Blain, Drummond, Haq and Watson all have one wicket each and there has been one run-out.

Last night's game was abandoned too, Ireland were 4/84 when a torential downpour ended play.

Good effort by Ireland to get to 7/222 off their 50 overs. Niall O'Brien top scored with 72 off 102 balls with Andre Botha scoring 42 off 54 and the captain Trent Johnston chipping in with 32 off 22 balls.

The best of the bowlers for scotland was the offspinner Majid Haq with 3/59.

The gives Ireland a chance at winning with a bonus point and finishing equal with the West Indies in the series.

Ireland managed to bowl Scotland out for 199 but this wasn't enough for them to get the bonus point giving the series win to the West Indies. Ryan Watson top scored for Scotland with 83 and Neil McCallum managed to make 54. Watson did make 83 but if Scotland were a chance to win he needed to bat quicker and some other batsmen needed to support him.

Andre Botha was the best of the bowlers with 3/27 off his 9 overs. Cusak took 2 and McCallan, Kidd and Langford-Smith took one a piece.

This ends the series in Ireland. Most of the games have been ultra competitive and even the West Indies didn't really dominate.
