Retirements

Re: Retirements

The problem with Australian spinners, is that there is such a large gap between the now spinners and the future spinners. Cam Whites not a good spinner. I think on the next tour, either Pakistan or the Windies, is they should take Bryce McGain and a few young spinner, either Nathan Hauritz or that South Australian finger spinner (can't remember his name right now)

Re: Retirements

Dan Cullen?

And yeah, I agree that youth is the way to go. I just don't think there are many actually world-class young spinners in Aussieland right now.

Re: Retirements

There will be in maybe 7 or 10 years time though and i reckon one of the current bunch will step up and become a good enough spinner. They were spoilt with Warne though.

As for retirements another one has been announced in Jason Gillispe. A few doubts as to whether or not he will be able to play for Glamorgan due to rumours of him joining the ICL.

If nothing else these Indian tournaments will clear out a generation of cricketers nearing the end of their careers! ::)

Re: Retirements

wow there have been too many fringe players retiring in the last few months. only because joining icl will give them finiancial security.

Re: Retirements

It is shameful that so many players are retiring because of ICL. ICC should make it legal because otherwise the players will keep retiring to play for ICL.
