This is the weird result of two teams whose best is very, very good, and whose worst is awful.

I take it Boucher was injured for this match. Was it a last minute thing or did they have time to factor it into the chosen squad? Couldn't find reference to it anywhere on Cricinfo.

Once again the vice-captain's spot looks in grave danger once the 'keeper returns. "Saved by the bell" at series end!?!

Boucher was ruled out on the morning of the test with back spasms.

South Africa are copping a thrashing in this test, 0/6 needing another 342 runs to make India bat again.

could not agree more on the statement, the truth is that the South Africans need a small miracle to get a draw let alone make India bat again.. This is the price sides pay when you lose 8 wickets for 50 plus in India..

Playing in India makes teams look either very good, or very bad. There is no inbetween.

Well, South Africa battled hard but they just fell short of saving the game. Hashim Amla made a brilliant hundred, making 123 not out but his innings was in vain as South Africa were bowled out with 30 mins of play remaining.

They lose by an innings and 57 runs with the series finishing at 1-1. India retain the number one spot on the world rankings.

Great game - have to give a lot of credit to South Africa, they kept fighting all through the day.

You also have to give credit to India, that was as well as I have ever seen India play without a fully firing bowling attack.

You always felt that once Singh went around the wicket to Morkel that it wouldn't take long to get that final wicket. Alas a couple of massive off breaks was followed by the slider and that was all it.

Also have to give credit to Steve Davis the umpire for getting the big decision right - the umps must get an adrenaline rush when they raise their finger and they hear that roar - great crowd as well.
