Sri Lanka In Australia

Sri Lanka were a bit better than a lower grade, mid table DVCA team with the bat today, but only a bit. Samaraweera? Jesus  It was obviously a good day for Bird, I don't know him as well others though.

Sri Lanka just look absolutely shot out there today with Clarke approaching another 100. Odds on Watto choking in the 90s?

Made the effort to go today, a waste of money. Jesus, the first 4 of Sri Lanka's wickets were pathetic. Sangakkara couldn't even make a 50. To make it worse, he's had his finger smashed and won't be playing the rest of the tour, which includes the one dayer in Melbourne. I'll still go to that, But I'm filthy he won't be playing.

Just think, before play started, when there was just 6 people in the top tier of the Olympic stand, I was chatting with another bloke there.

Me - "Gee, it's a really good view from here. I think I might come tomorrow, and bring my camera with me."

Him - "The thing is, I don't think there'll be a tomorrow..."

Close win in the end against Sri Lanka. Good to see Sri Lanka put up a fight. Hussey gets a fitting farewell coming in towards the end of the innings.

I actually thought about the anonymous, internet, NZ cricket fan during the 45. It was good Brownlie made a ton. Lucky there isn't a thread for the series!

Funniest thing was working on a Saturday with a Kiwi listening to the cricket when McGrath somehow scraped in a 50, in the background he goes 'Oh FFS!'

^ no comment. :p

Anyone going to be watching the ODI's? I'd watch it just for Malinga haha (only bowler who's main delivery is the yorker and it's always testing haha). Aaron Finch should be interesting to watch as well.

I was actually at the ticket window at the MCG when the game started. I had checked last night to see the prices of tickets. General Admission was $35, I was happy to pay that. Then at the window, the attendant says there is no GA tickects available, only reserve seating tickets, which was starting at $55. SInce I made the effort to go I copped it on the chin a decided to pay it. Then when asked if I could get as seat where I wanted to sit, top tier of the Olympic stand, next to the members, they said there was no GA tickets there. The GA tickets were mainly square of the wicket. Pfft, no thanks! Slightly frustrated, I went home.

Couldn't be bothered watching today at all but good to hear Bailey make some runs.

ODI games are pretty overpriced.

edit - Just looking at it for WACA game against the WI prices range between $56 and $108... Way too much for pretty meaningless games, would rather go to the Big Bash which is about 1/3 that amount.

That's a more than poor effort from the officials as there was plenty of available seats at the game from what I saw and I mean PLENTY!

Disappointing effort from Australia tonight. Dropping Usman Khawaja for Steve Smith was bound to cause trouble. I feel sorry for Brad Haddin injuring his hamstring after his good batting display. That bloke hasn't had much luck. Kane Richardson needs to fix his follow through after he was banned from bowling the rest of his overs because he was in the 'danger zone'. At least for the next match we get back David Warner and hopefully Michael Clarke.
