Re: subbies season 07/08
Last weekend saw the candidates for champion team for 07/08 reduced to 4 with the favourites,Malvern bowing out and the current champs still in the race for consecutive titles.
Bops chased down Malvern's 293 with 1 wicket left in a thriller with ex test player Adam Dale getting them across the line. The Roosters skipper Monto Perera made 91 off only 66 balls in a great display.
Caulfield easily accounted for Brunswick in the other semi with Leigh Baldry, son of ex Vic Bob Baldry making 120.
Willy way too good for a disappointing Mount Waverley with Seagull's skipper Craig Sheedy a handy double of 55* and 3/30 off an amazing 29 overs in what could be an ominous sign for Box Hill next week.
Box Hill just got there in the other semi with a thrilling 1 wicket win over a brave Oakleigh side,Barry Ensil the standout with 102 out of 178.
So,2 games down to the wire and 2 one sided ones leaves us with 2 tantalising GF's to come.
In E/W Box Hill host Willy in a replay of last years championship final with nothing between the 2,maybe home ground ad might give the Hillmen a slight advantage but will stick with Willy to make it 2 in a row.
In N/S I might leave that one to you Bucket but for the record will go for Caulfield but with not a lot of confidence.
With the promise of nice weather we should get big numbers along to see 2 enthralling contests, good luck to all.
