Subbies Thread

I dont see any issues with what hes said - he wants to drive improvement and a better culture. Two non negotiables as far as a coach is concerned.
He's been moved on from one club but clearly there's more to it than meets the eye there as they won the Club Championship. Certainly when he left RPB it appeared it wasnt club driven as they wanted to retain him.

Think stevo has hit the nail on the head - he seems to put a lot of people offside with his approach. He is suited to a low-lying club who have been in the wilderness and to drag them from the bottom rung to the top

A few moves to and from Coburg recently. Any news on moves to or from Brunswick, Ivanhoe, Kew or Balwyn? This group will need some quality to compete in group far stronger next season.

Have seen Chris Weeks from Richmond to Kew over the last couple of days, any more news out there? Seems a light year for player movements so far.

James Pearson to Box Hill was announced a while back by the new Box Hill PR machine, how are you Ben?

Stray and De Bolfo have quit Premier so Bayswater and Balwyn well placed you would think?

A good Premier bat is pondering a move to subbies but apparently undecided at this point.

De Bolfo gone to Washington Park in SECA

Johnstone - 28 wickets from 240 overs. Wouldn't think he's warranted his position given Wild and Thorne in that squad before him

Few clubs tweeting congratulations regarding team of the year shortlist selection this morning. Anyone got the full list they can provide?

So, no-one from Oakleigh good enough? Very poor representation from this side of town as 6 of the 7 clubs in the west (Altona, Willy, Y'ville, Melton, Hoppers Xing and Sunshine) not represented. I guess only time will tell whether this will be a trend. To establish a promotion/relegation system would probably only be practical if the annual geographical rotation was abandoned. As this would destroy the uniqueness of the subbies comp, I can't see that happening.

No one really blew it away at Oakleigh this year looking at mycricket. As for the west side of the comp, players like Maynard, Kirk etc. all had sub-par years by their elite standards. However, certainly a lower level of teams & players from the west when compared to south or north.

I wouldn't get too carried away with the strength in the north - the east group was superior with Mount Waverley & Bayswater playing off in the grand final and Croydon & Plenty Valley being the losing semi finalists.

No doubt the The North group has some strong clubs and their battles with the self appointed 'Dream teams' in the south will be fascinating to watch next summer
