The biggest issue CV has is that the board basically has its hands tied. There are 25 delegate votes, 18 of which are the Premier Clubs. The Premier Clubs will ALWAYS vote to guard their own self interests. Unfortunately what's good for Premier Cricket isn't always good for Victorian Cricket. Especially when money/grants are concerned. Trust me, the Premier clubs are only looking after themselves. They have no concern for developing local cricket. IMO the Premier clubs have far too much power.

Don't disagree with much of what you say, but find it hard to conclude CV's bullying of the subbies was related to what you have said. Independence is not a guarantee of good decision-making. There need to be checks and balances.

At my old club in other state we used to go out and have pub crawls which was great way to bond with team mates. Do they still have social events at higher clubs i have also heard premier cricketers are full of themselves

I would choose a couple of clubs, close to where you live train a couple of times at each and see what feels best for you.

Mossy has also been appointed batting coach at Omega CC for the pre season, can't fathom how he can do both. I know he had a few clubs during the last couple of years which in some cases people saw this as questionable, especially while umpiring.
 
Interesting fixture for 2017/18

The questions I would ask include

1) Why have the VSDCA opted to eliminate cross town games in all XI's (ie; The 1st and 2nd XI divisions will only play against teams in their "North/West" or "South/East" region, identical to the 3rd and 4th XI divisions).

2) Why are the 4th XI divisions playing a 14 rounds season, despite the fact that all other XI's have a conventional 13 rounds season in place? Additionally, why are the 4th XI starting a week after everybody else in the second half of the season (January 20th as opposed to January 13th)?

Because it's in trouble.
 
The groups change every season, last year south played north and west played the east, next season south will play west. Understand the Comp before passing judgment

I know the divisions change every season. The point I was trying to make was that this is the first time I can ever recall seeing the "North/West" "South/East" combination in 1st and 2nd XI divisions (Mycricket appears to confirm this, as 16/17 was "North/South" "East/West" and 15/16 was "North/East" "South/West" etc). This is the first time in memory that we have "absolute uniformity" across all 4 XI's, and I was merely enquiring as to whether there was any additional reason for this (ie; An attempt to reduce travel time in order to appeal more to potential new players considering CSB or other pro-Cricket Victoria Taskforce "bodies"). I am familiar with the grading process, and was not intending to "pass judgement."

I still can't understand why the 4th XI grades are playing a 14 round season, especially considering that there are still 14 teams in the competition, making the conventional 13 round fixture, whereby everyone plays each other once, much more practical.

I think you are getting misled due to some of the MyCricket headings. I can assure you that the South/East and North/West groups played in the following seasons in the 1st & 2nd XIs: 2011/12, 2014/15, & now 2017/18 - have a look at the individual results from those seasons.
Some clubs changing groups seems to have mixed up the details.
As for the 4th XI, they are playing 2 x two-day games this year as 1-day fixtures. So where previously you'd play Team A vs Team B in a two dayer, it is now consecutive one dayers.

What the Subbies need to do is get the proper info out to clubs, which hasn't happened.

True. You talk to young blokes from Subbies clubs and they don't want to travel. It's the old boys that don't want change.
