Frankie joining Pearso at Brunswick? Or another Magpie?

That is correct regarding Frankie!!
With him joining the wick$, they needed to squeeze out a player and given they recruited Pearson, the need for Fort was no longer required.
They are building a nice team down at the wick$ and surely are the team to beat.
It's not a massive surprise to hear they are not happy with the points moving down to 20.
Pearson 4
Lampard 4
Murphy 3
doesn't leave much room to have anyone else, they can have a 2 point player and everyone else needs to be at 1 point.

Good year to bring back the championship match. Pretty clear cut winners early doors!

Big pressure on Brunswick now to deliver, have spent good money the past 3-4 seasons and come up short.

Reckon Bayswater will give them a good run along with Kew, but aside from that it could be a pretty flat season in the North/East

How would the conversation with Fort have gone down? He was still committed up until July by the sounds of it.

"Sorry mate we cant fit you in anymore as we've found someone better"...imagine being in that position?

After 2 completed seasons.

Not going by the information that I have seen from the competition.
Either way, they will be right on 20 points this year

It's not surprising that they let him go given they have signed Pearson and have other bowlers at the club that will get more overs.
Only bowled more than 10 overs in a game once last year.
Will get a chance at Coburg to potentially bat at 6 and bowl at least 15 overs a game
good move for Ryan and Coburg.

Agree with Cucumber, see below from the Handbook

"*points to reduce by one for each consecutive season played after the player has played two seasons at the club"

That is correct, I just went over the handbook.
No wonder Fort was moved on then.
It's probably fair to say that the exec look at certain clubs a bit closer than other clubs.

Over time, it may be necessary to further extend the period before scaling down commences. Alternatively, the points total could be, say, doubled to 40 a one point per season reduction after 2 seasons being in effect the same as leaving the total at 20 and the scale down after 2 seasons becoming half a point per season. The bottom line is there is scope for tweaking the points system in the interests of evening out the competition, provided there is the will to do so.

Pearson, Brennan, McKay, etc. It won’t matter anyway. It’s spin to win, stump to stump in subbies. You need 50 overs a day with the keeper up to the pegs in subbies. They’ve struggled to make finals let alone win them. Wasting their time and money.

Take it to the bank. Are you one of those players who make enough during the week to not be paid to play cricket ?

I don’t make enough during the week and I’m not good enough to be paid on the weekends. I love my cricket and the club nonetheless.

What about you Winki??
You seem to be very keen on the cash. Are you one of those players?
I wonder who your sources are r.e. Money that is spent at certain clubs or do you just guess like some of these other blokes on here.

Chachi '' my man '', you seem to be missing something. The original point was about a certain player, not players. It certainly wasn't about me loving the cash. Take your blinkers off as there is a fair bit of $ that some players ask for, I was privy to some discussions regarding a certain player. 60k over 3 seasons, plus a regular job was being bandied around, so good luck if the certain player has negotiated something close to that. I'm glad you are like many of us who love your cricket and club.

I don't know the background to it but I see Yoshan Kumara from Taylors Lakes has been cleared to Williamstown Cyms who play in the lower divisions of the Vtca, wtf?,if he doesn't make 1000 runs and get 60 wickets he'll have had a shit year.
