Bayswater should do it easy over Moorabbin, Binners will be lucky to win a game this year, plenty of no names in that side that dont look like standing up.

I read the Moorabbin scorecard from round 2 and saw Pradeep batting at 11. Not sure why that was the case.

If he is back, you would think he could win them a couple of games off his own bat!

Thanks for posting re the merger compulsive.
Food for thought, who goes up,who takes their spot?
As to who goes up,as Harry Hoo used to say,two possibilities,Plenty Valley and Noble Park.
I would think Plenty would be the fave even though their facilities are shite compared to Nobles'.
The real interesting one is who comes in?,does it necessarily have to come out of the Vtca or are there
other clubs out there just as capable from DDCA or ECA like Mulgrave or someone?.
From a limited knowledge of Vtca i'm thinking the strongest clubs would be Sth Caulfield,Yarraville Club and maybe Hoppers?.
Trouble is Caulfield,Yarraville and Werribee would not welcome it for obvious reasons.
What does everyone think?

There's a lot to consider there PB.

I think the team who would enter premier cricket would need to fit this criteria:

- Located in a geographic area currently not occupied near other premier sides
- Ideally has a women's premier cricket side

Therefore, Melton and Plenty Valley would be favourites in my opinion.

Hoppers would be an easy swap for Melton as they are both west teams and wouldn't change the regions.

Some SE predictions

Oakleigh to get over Box Hill, Box hill seem to be struggling at the minute, they need to get some wins on the board but cant see them getting over the line against Oakleigh
Brighton to get over Elsternwick, havnt seen much of either but will go with Brighton despite being whacked by Ormond last week.
Ormond to get over Malvern, Malvern seem to be relying heavily on Jones to get the runs and also seem to be missing a few, Ormond should be to strong.
Croydon to get over Endeavor Hills, Croydon have been unlucky losing two games scoring over 200, I think they will get off the mark this weekend.
Noble Park should bounce back to beat Mt Waverley after an extraordinary loss last week, it must be said their batting looks a bit frail.
Caulfield will beat Kingston Saints, Caulfield once again look the team to beat this year.
Bayswater should do it easy over Moorabbin, Binners will be lucky to win a game this year, plenty of no names in that side that dont look like standing up.
Great post. Oakleigh certainly confident but pride cometh before a fall. Ormond are very solid and with Bird ,Hansen in the background are certainly a top 2 team. Malvern will certainly play finals and are a very solid unit. Caulfield will finish top 2. Brighton have a few potential ins as season progresses but may struggle to make finals. At this stage prediction for top 6 after 2 rounds is Caulfield [premier] Malvern, Ormond [runner up] , Oakleigh [unlucky loser], Noble Park and Bayswater.

In my region I know both Hoppers and Yarraville Club are very strong. Hoppers are a huge club and probably have a fair bit more depth through juniors and lower XI's than Yarraville Club.

A curve ball for you all, Plenty Valley go up to Premier, Hoppers come in to the West Group and RPB go to the North Group. They are much more North than West anyway.

Yeah this looks pretty good to me, I thought Hanson had retired? Ormond still seem to be scoring though. How did your overseas go on the weekend B brightboy ? Caulfield have so many guns in their side they look unbeatable but as we saw last year in the their division anything is possible. I also like the look of Bayswater, they have a good balanced side. I'm not overly convinced with Oakleighs bowling, seems a lot of the same stuff.

Yarraville Club field just one junior team, (u15). Although the CV press release suggests another club will be sought, there is a school of thought the number of Premier clubs should be reduced. If, say, Essendon were to merge with North Melbourne/Greenvale this would get one of the existing inner suburban Premier clubs (Essendon) exposure to a growth corridor. There seem to be far too many Premier clubs not resident in growth corridors. If CV were to offer cash incentives in order to encourage 2 Premier clubs to merge, who knows? Money talks all languages.

Not sure they are stuffed. From what I know they are turning things around and have a thriving junior program to go with 4 senior teams. The 1st XI has also made the past 6 finals series (not sure how good/bad South Div is though).

Tips for this round:

N/E:

PV
Altona
Melton
Preston
Brunswick
Werribee
Balwyn

S/E:

Oakleigh
Brighton
Ormond
Croydon
Noble Park
Caulfield
Bayswater

Good to see most matches finish with a result yesterday, even if it meant interrupted and shortened games.

Most results went as expected you would think. Interesting ladder after 3 rounds. Plenty Valley on top followed by every single team from the West group before any other from North. Aware this will change but seems like sides such as Balwyn may struggle this year.

Oakleigh have started a bit shaky but they're still my pick, they have a lot to give still. I'm not sure how you can predict caulfield winning it? They're yet to play what would be considered a competitive side
