Subbies Thread

Went down to watch Moorabbin Vs Brighton, Rushworth is a class act & almost dragged them over the line. Must be mentioned Moorabbin have a bowler who bowled 130+ Yesterday and bowls a frightening line. Saw jones & White for malvern rd 1, this league has a lot of special poms this year. interested to see how the likes of Ormond and Oakleigh go vs the bowling of Rushworth and Evans.

A bit of praise for Clements and Weiss. Facing first class bowlers the only 2 to score more than 13 with 16 players in single figures. On a new wicket it was a great effort by these 2 when the rest really struggled.

Agree, Weiss was potted by plenty on here last year, guess they know who he is now. 9 down, 10 to get, doesn't get much better than that.

With RPB and plenty valley looking off the boil early.

Brunswick, box hill, balwyn and Bayswater reliant on 1 or 2 guns to win games.

Is this year going to b a fizzer where Kew is the last team standing?

Looks like it. Nail on the head i reckon for the North east

That side of the competition is definitely not as strong but to call it after Rd 2 is a big call especially with Plenty Valley just having an off day with the stick. Lets not forget their Rd 1 win and also their last couple of seasons.

A lot of time and money wasted for all clubs involved.

Mitch Johnstone would be gutted!

Doubt he would be 'gutted'.

Left a subbies minnow with terrible facilities and is now coaching a genuine premiership chance with excellent facilities who don't rely on a cow paddock to roll sides.

Don't think he'd be losing much sleep...

Looks like Premier expansion plans have been scrapped, monumental waste of time for the clubs involved.
Another Cv stuff up.

Absolutely another stuff-up, and predictable too, given the number of Premier clubs who were lined up to oppose it. I favour the adoption of an independent Board in principle, but what hope would the existing CV Executive have of convincing stakeholders to vote in favour of it ?. What has happened would be laughable, were it not for the serious implications going forward. It is back to the drawing board as far as future Premier Cricket presence in growth corridors is concerned. Given the manner in which PV, Melton and W'Bee have been treated, any further approaches by CV to them may be treated with sceptism, to say the least!!

Looking forward to Woody's response to your 'minnow' call.

I understand what you are saying but the major reason behind his move was to Capt/Coach a Premier Club believing that Werribee were going to move into premier cricket.

Interesting outcome, given Geoff Tamblyn's recent interview was that the 20 club comp had to happen and happen quickly. Who knows what is going on!

Agree, this is not a stuff up, it's a backflip, because if they wanted to go to 20 teams, they could. They are choosing not to, and the only variable is the change from Tamblyn to Thomas. Given the Regional restructure is Thomas' baby, one has to wonder whether his lack of progress there has influenced the decision. Very disturbing to say the least.
