The BaggyGreens Thread

You are correct as there is a minor bending of the elbow. But, wait for the punchline. It is within the rules, the same rule that permitted Murali to bowl in Test cricket. Bowl, more like flick, similar to a sling shot. He took the most ever wickets by default. Warne was the best ever as he had a pure action.

Tbf I’m more inclined to call Bumrah out than Murali. Muralis elbow was bent the whole way through his action rather than extending (which is what the rules specify).

Bumrahs is hyperextension, and even though you can’t control that, I am sceptical that it’s under the allowed degrees of flexion.

Either way idc and they’re still both excellent bowlers.

I'm rather over this series already. An absolute ************** joke Indian fans outnumber ours in our own ************** country.

Unfortunately, a very large chunk of Australians do not follow test cricket or any cricket at all. Indians are generally obsessed with it.

We should consider this bloke Kurtis for a middle order spot if Marsh and Smith continue to fail. I don't know why they dropped him in the first place.

A thumping 10 wicket thrashing by the Aussies puts us back on even terms after our forgettable effort in Perth. A gutsy dig from Marnus and Sween in the twilight , then Marn carrying on next morning, was the trigger for our huge s/i score. No way they will sack the Qlander now.

I agree, kicked in the teeth back in 2018/19. If it was any other side I'd say yes play him in Melbourne or Sydney. India is strong in spin and K Patt is no more than a moderate player of spin. Besides doubt he'd handle Bumrah any better than our other blokes. Also another in his early 30s.

There are four guys bashing down the door at moment. Is CA even taking note of Henry Hunt, Tim Ward, Hilton Cartwright or Kurtis Patterson.

Smithy is a legend and will be permitted to call his own time, not so Marsh with Beau Webster in line to take his place probably after his next failure. Josh Inglis has the jump over that other quartet as reserve bat, but the first two must now be next in line to nab Ussie or Sweens spots. Marnus will need to back up next game too to cement his place.

Last round of the shield saw a nail biter at Bellerive with Tassie blowing it in the final over when Meredith turned a certain draw into a SAussie win. Tim Ward will be spitting chips as he batted his guts out to have Tassie neck deep in the contest . Confusion then reined when he went for a superb 142 late in the last session over whether to continue for the draw or go for the win. With power hitter Mitch Owen joining Hope it was decided the win it was. Tassie where on track until Owen mistimed a knee hi full toss from McAndew that had six written all over it. Thats when the nerves kicked in and the Tassie tail failed the mental challenge..

Sharkman even you must be blown away by the comeback win that has squared the series. I was. It was one for the ages and not only because we won. It produced everything that makes Test cricket the pre eminent cricket format. The 'PURE' game.
