Hats off to the Australian PM who is not slumming it in his comfy home in Canberra this ANZAC Day long weekend , he is instead sweating buckets walking the infamous KOKODA TRACK with the PNG PM. This morning at dawn the two leaders held a service at Isurava the small mountain village where one of the most brutal battles of the New Guinea campaign was waged by the brave Aussie diggers against an overwhelming Japanese force hellbent on taking Port Moresby. And which led to those heroes forcing back the Japanese along the Kokoda track and eventual withdrawal to the coast. It was at the towns of Buna and Gona that a combined force of reinforced Aussies and Americans annihilated what was left of the Japanese Army and put an end to any risk of an invasion of Australia.
