Re: The Official Bigcricket Soccer Thread.

Curbs has announced the Penny has dropped.

2-0 over Boro!

We're on our way back. Go the Hammers!

Re: The Official Bigcricket Soccer Thread.

Emile Mpenza = Legend.

That is all :p

Re: The Official Bigcricket Soccer Thread.

i don't want to talk about the Arsenal match yesterday. i should've just stayed in bed.

and to make it worse, i tried to wait out the rain delay in the cricket at the bar, but it was took freaking long!

ugh, it was awful. woke up at 5:45 AM so I could make it to a bar to watch it.

of course, it was funny sinning nil-3 to the Arsenal, nil-3 to the Arsenal, nil-3 to the Arsenal...

and, 4-3, we're going to win 4-3, we're going to win 4-3.

and then, 5-4 we're going to win 5-4, we're going to win 5-4

Re: The Official Bigcricket Soccer Thread.

That's nothing. I'm waking up at 4:30 to watch Valencia Vs Chealsea. Dedicated Valencia fan is all i can say.

Re: The Official Bigcricket Soccer Thread.

Gotta get fired up in North America now! MLS First Kick this weekend, with the first game for TFC! Oooooooh baby, who's on the red bus?

been there done that :) :p

there was some match a few years back, i think in the FA Cup on a sunday morning at 4:30 (due to the fact that England didn't change their clocks until after Chicago did) and my buddy and I just stayed up all night drinking to watch the match. then his girlfriend cooked us breakfast.

oh, and come on Valencia.

Will, I just can't get excited for the MLS. I go to Fire matches and they are fun, and I support my local team, but I just don't get pumped up by it

That is the greatest girlfriend ever. I hope he married her. If not, I hope you did.

I'm just really excited to have top-flight (for North America, anyway) soccer in the city! I've been to some Lynx (USL) games previously, and it's just very bush league compared to what I see when I watch MLS on TV. And the reaction in the city has been awesome - seasons tickets are sold out, and 4 pubs have been booked by the team for watching the first game ever against Chivas USA this weekend. Plus..CHEAP CARLSBERG - since they are the official beer spnsor.

Re: The Official Bigcricket Soccer Thread.

Psssh Carlsberg overated beer, very overated. But do like the ads that they have on them "Football legends!!!!!!!"

Have never read up much about MLS and dunno when or if I would even bother reading up about it. Too much effort and it has nothing on the A-League ;)

Re: The Official Bigcricket Soccer Thread.

HAH! I challenge you to a match - MLS premier against A-League! When I am king of the world, I will make it happen!

Also, Carlsberg isn't my favourite either - but cheap beer is cheap beer!

that girlfriend was a ragin bitch though. my buddy married someone else, and his wife does make a mean breakfast, plus she watches matches with us when they are in Chicago at the bar.

good things are happening in Toronto, i just hope the buzz lasts and doesn't fade away.

nothing wrong with cheap carlsberg, or any cheap beer for that matter. I myself am an equal opportunity drinker.

Re: The Official Bigcricket Soccer Thread.

DAVID SILVA !! WOOOT ! What a goal, Wicked turn, And then curled it over Cech from 25 Yards. Brilliant. I feel so buggered (was my bday yesterday)

damn, i was happy to see that scoreline.

now Valencia just got to take care of business in Spain!

on an unrelated note, I have a friend playing basketball in the lower leagues of Spain right outside of Valencia

Re: The Official Bigcricket Soccer Thread.

Chelsea dug themselves out of a hole there didn't they?

what a goal by Silva. How good was that? how good was it!?!

it's a pity Drogba was able to reply.

Bring on the 2nd leg.

...which i don't think SBS is showing, they are showing Man Utd and Roma i think.

digging themselves out of a hole has been Chelsea's MO this entire freaking season. they've looked more vulnerable this year but still have managed to keep it close.
