Timing and Trading

Are we playing three preseason tests? If so what is schedule?

Then we have a trade period.

How long does it last? What is the purpose? How does it happen? When does it start?

And then, if this is going to take a week or two, would it be reasonable to hold off until BFFCL finishes normal season, and half the teams don't play anymore. Maybe some would like a game here?

Re: Timing and Trading

From what I understand, it's only a one off Test Match, then the trading period (which would last for a week) and then we kick off the regular season.

No point in having an extended pre-season, people here may lose interest because the regular season hasn't started yet.

I understand what you're saying, but a massive influx of players at the same time from BigFooty might not be wise, we'd then have the re-fixture everything, have a new draft and then risk a further delay and not getting the season started, or it may result in the season starting over again.

Re: Timing and Trading

Plus, there's not going to be a big off-season at BF anyway, probably a week or two max.

1 preseason test

Then we have a trade period.

How long does it last?

5 days

What is the purpose?

To even the balance of your side up

How does it happen?

Captains of each side making a trade and all players involved must agree to a trade

When does it start?

After the current preseason test match

Re: Timing and Trading

The players shouldn't have a say in my opinion. It should be the sole respsonsibilty of the two captains to agree to the trade.

You then leave the possibility open of a player quitting the competition.

Re: Timing and Trading

What about Josh Kennedy at Carlton last season?

He didn't want to go, yet in the end the club told him to go, and he eventually reluctantly left the club.

If the player quits the competition because he was traded to another club, so be it.

Yep, I'd quit if Fred traded me to the muppet duo.

Re: Timing and Trading

I also agree with Dirk. What happens if a player is not wanted at the club but he is being annoying and won't accept to be traded?

Re: Timing and Trading

Then the club lose a potential trade because of a sore loser and have to give him away for nothing? When if the two captains can come to agreement over the player?...

Re: Timing and Trading

Captains always have the right to delist players

The players involved must have a say, we can't have players leaving the comp.
