Toe Guards

Just wondering whether anyone has ever heard of using araldite for a toe guard?

I had a local cricket bat repairer use it on my old bat, and it was great! I never noticed it on the bat when I was using it or when sliding the bat, and it kept the toe strong and free from moisture.

I've now got a new bat, and wanted something similar. Problem is, I don't think the guy who did my first bat does repairs any more, and I can't remember anything other than "araldite" to describe the stuff he used.

Could this be it?

Araldite is a simple contact epoxy. I use it on my bat because the toe guard was falling off, it works very well for sealing it off, i'm not sure about how it will affect it over time.
You can usually pick it up at a builders merchants or ironmongers or similar.

Are the ones available in the AUS.
Beware that it is incredibly sticky, and takes around a day to set completely. You mix it up on a seperate place, eg a scrap of cardboard first.
