I believe it's 57 points - though I stand to be corrected. Can't find the actual figure anywhere on the VT website or in the Match and Admin handbook (though there's plenty of information about penalties for breaching it etc)

It's a bit low in my book. The VT explained that based on tallying every Snr Div club from last season (at year zero, when every current player's points is at its highest), not one club would have gone over the cap. Now being year 1, every player has earned a 1 point deduction.

They've been shrewd with this... It allows those clubs who flouted the 2 paid player rule to carry on unabated, whilst at the same time placating the clubs who were jumping up and down about the cheats.

Who knows, it may have some bite in a couple of years.

theres always a blow up every now and then thats why those people who blow up are keepers usually

Mostly true southern sledge although some of us also use it as an excuse to get away from the Mrs and kids for a few hours! Weather not looking the best for the rest of the week.

Campbellfield Cricket Club cordially invites all clubs to make use of our facilities and services available to you on game days.As some senior clubs have teams in more than one association please feel free to mention this to those team mates playing in the NWCA

CANTEEN

Our club prides itself on being well prepared so have taken the liberty of running a fully stocked canteen and bar facilities for you and your members to enjoy.

The canteen will be serving a variety of foods such as chicken nuggets, fish and calamari, amongst other things all served with chips in a snack box. Steak sandwiches, Hot Dogs,

Hamburgers, Schnitzel Rolls, Dim Sims and Hot Chips. Not forgetting the kids (and those big kids at heart) we have assorted Chocolate Bars, Potato Chips and Ice Creams.

You can replenish your thirst with a great variety of Soft Drinks, Sports Drinks or Water. Alcoholic Beveridge’s are available if you are over 18 years of age.

FACILITIES

We have made an adjustment to our game day procedure this season. To prevent any injuries to people tripping over there will NOT be any cricket bags allowed in the Main Pavilion.

We will however, have the Pavilion known as Bay 13 open for your convenience to change into your uniforms and to place your cricket bags in.

Everyone is welcome to use our main Pavilion for Afternoon Tea, to use the amenities (a disabled toilet is available) and also to enjoy after match socialising.

We look forward to sharing our venue with you and wish everyone the best for the 2009/2010 season

Campbellfield Cricket Club requires females over the age of 13 for our one day team.

If anyone has a wife, daughter, sister, neice, cousin or nana that would love to have a game of cricket please forward this information.

No experience necessary, coaching and equipment are provided.

Currently our team have girls aged from 13 to 48 however age is no barrier.

Days of play are Sunday afternoon and our home ground is Seth Raistrick Reserve.

On the corner of the Hume Highway and Campbell Street (next door to the old blue church)

Here we go...just as I expected. It's clear that you're here to be an arse because no one that ignorant would say something like that. We won the game which is the only thing that matters.

a quick google search returned results which indicated the points cap is 54. Although the link it is on has been removed from the VTCA website so cannot be verified!

How much rain does it take for the games to be called off? Saturday is forecast to have a "shower or two". Hope we get to play!

Why are the VT delaying the inevitable and not calling this weekend off already?!... It's pissed down every day this week. Who can honestly say they'll get anything up? (apart from those nutbag clubs who keep their covers on for most of the week in the middle of a drought)

Nothing worse then hearing Brian Quinn's voice telling you to turn up when you knows there's absolutely no chance. Just spoils any chance for alternative plans eg. races!

It is easy to be critical of the powers above, but we are here to play cricket, i want to play and others do as well.
It is not looking good though, the positive is that it might get us through the season as the Government were looking at higher restrictions in November.

I know we all want to play Sledge, but what makes this week different to two weeks ago, when they had the good sense to call it off mid-week?

Given the drought etc we should be more conservative and take a long-term approach at this time of year. We want to ensure we have wicket tables that will last through a predicted hot summer. Surely you don't want to be short-sighted and go running around on sticky centre squares, potentially damaging them for the rest of the season, for the sake of one day's of play?

Should be called off now, so that clubs don't have to go laying covers and squares can get all the rain they can.

I tend to agree with you SS. Games could well be decided by the toss of a coin if play starts this week. A good days racing this Sat too:D

Just received a text message from the VT asking for responses from the clubs by 3pm tomorrow, i would think if the majority of grounds are out they will call it off by the evening. Southern Son your posts are very negative against our comp, if you don't like it why not play somewhere else or go to the races.

Mate didnt the Granny get played in rain affected conditions?
Isn't our primary function to play cricket?
Aren't our turf tables excempt from the water restrictions?
Aren't water level restriction set by the amount of water in our dams?

Club should do everything within there power to get there decks up to ensure there member get a game of cricket without a shadow of a doubt in my mind.
Week one was dictated by councils rejuvanating decks after footy season and not being able to do proper repairs due to the rain the main problem...
now its up to the clubs!!!
