Hows everyone Turf wickets looking?.Will they be ready for round 1 on Saturday.
No news from VTCA re Round 1.Surely they can make a decision now.

It would appear that no team in this comp. managed to play a game for the whole season. So sad, but not unexpected. This is now, officially, the forum for dead competitions. Well done to all who killed it, and any interest that may have survived.

My first and perhaps only post on this site. CV are spending up big on supporting Cricket Southern Bayside. I am sure CV would be very interested in doing likewise in the NorthWest. VTCA clubs should be seriously considering approaching CV on this issue. It is the way of the future. There are too many challenges facing cricket nowadays for competition management to persist without CV backing.

Any updates on how the Cricket Vic meeting went with the Nth West clubs last week?

Update, Cricket Vic had a number of nominations for the Nth West Collaborative Group and it has been cut down to a smaller group and should be holding their first meeting in the coming weeks to get the ball rolling.

I believe the vt were demanding 5 spots on a new board and they will be the usual suspects who have conspired to wreck a great competition.

I believe that is correct that the group will be made up like you said ,might also have player input as well.

The Collaborative Group will be made of 10-12 people with a mix of association nominations and club nominations.

Sounds as though the subbies clubs in the west may have to contend with an equivalent of Cricket Southern Bayside (although probably structured somewhat differently) within the next year or two. Such may be the size of the competition that the ablest of the people running the existing NW competitions will, in conjunction with CV, be needed to provide it with competent administration. IMO, they will need to be in receipt of honorariums commensurate with their input to running the new competition. I wish the CG well.
 
It will be run very well once it's set up , the Admin of CSB is outstanding and they listen to Captains , players and clubs in general . It's the way of the future with less travel , which gets people back to their clubs . the travel is also a reason why some play local . In the future no doubt the regions will play rep games which will be outstanding.

I agree regionalisation is the way of the future and that the experience gained by CV in its involvement in CSB will be very beneficial in getting the NW model correct from the outset. As you know, the subbies are keen to increase its numbers from 28 to 32 clubs. It may now be more difficult for it to attract clubs in the north and the west as it is logical they should adopt a 'wait and see approach', rather than at present commit to transfer to the subbies.

Update from Cricket Victoria

As a follow up to last month's forum, we have developed this 'North West' zone-specific project update to keep all associations, clubs and key stakeholders aware of the progress of the Melbourne Metropolitan Cricket Strategy.

These updates will be sent out on a monthly basis to provide a quick overview of what has taken place and what is planned for the upcoming period.

Collaborative Group
After receiving more than 20 nominations from associations and clubs, we are pleased to announce the North West Collaborative Group.

The make-up of the group ensures a diverse coverage of skills, experience and knowledge from within the community.

The group met for the first time on Tuesday 15 May 2018 and will continue to work through the strategy and structure of the proposed zone before their next meeting.

Area Manager Recruitment
As a follow up to the formation of the Collaborative Group, Cricket Victoria this week advertised for a newly designed Area Manager position for the zone.

This role will provide leadership to the existing Cricket Managers (Stuart Wilson & Daniel Trevillian) whilst working closely with the Collaborative Group and building strong relationships with key stakeholders within the zone.

Heads of Agreement in Southern Bayside
Last week, Cricket Victoria, Cricket Southern Bayside (CSB), South East Cricket Association (SECA) and Inner South East Cricket (ISEC) signed a Heads of Agreement to proceed with the development of a single governing structure for cricket administration in Melbourne’s south east and bayside regions.

The agreement outlines the proposed integration plan for SECA and ISEC within CSB over a multi-year transitional period with a Deed of Transition to be developed between each of the parties. For more information, please click here
