Vtca Season 2017/18 & 2018/19

So go to your own forum and keep your nose and comments to that page
Yeah, we can stick to our forum and talk about our low affiliation fees, in a comp where we get a full time professional administrator who doesn’t abuse us at meetings, while throughout all grades we play formats and rules that assist clubs (which came about after actually listening to what the clubs wanted)

Sometimes it’s just fun to come over here for a reminder of what we left behind!!

I agree with most of you said Ratnbat about the CSB only problem with CSB like the VTCA it has no umpires in the lower grades unlike the MCA a minor competition which has 2 umpires for all games on Saturdays and Sundays if CSB can fixed this problem it will go strength to strength as a compitition and surpass Sub District as the 2nd best Compitition in the state as Sub District sometimes have 1 or no umpire in the lower grades

Good point Longonman. It’s sonething they’re working pretty hard on, hopefully the overflow of umpire numbers from premier cricket starts to pay off

Well from what I'm hearing from couple Premier umpires I know it maybe some time before this happens maybe the CSB might have bring in weekly payments to get umpires from Premier and ex players to umpire in the CSB so all grades have 2 or 1 umpire

It can't be much worse than the farcical situation that is VTCA umpiring now. Brint on the Cricket Victoria zone for North West and watch how quickly the VTCA becomes extinct.

Yes the once mighty VTCA has gone down hill a real shame and the fat lady singing her heart out.
But in saying that I'm hearing the MCA - A Minor Competition in many ways has added more umpires to its panel and has to many now so enough umpires for 2 days for of cricket with extras in reserve.
A good problem to have I dare say.

Yes but not a great example as MCA is a social comp, not sure they have the same sort of competitiveness that major comps have
Yes the MCA is a social competition as well as a minor competition but somehow it still manages to attract whole clubs that played in the VTCA North in the past plus a lot of ECA ,DDCA ,Sub District, Premier and CSB lower X1 so it must be doing something right

VTCA AGM is on tonight. Have not seen any agenda for meeting. Bonus points removal should be voted on and any rule changes. Would be good to know beforehand .

Why make an agenda for the clubs when they will just come in and make it up on the spot like the divisions fiasco. Give clubs 2 different options to choose from then on the night come in with a new one and tell the clubs that it's now the only option. Ridiculous grouping of clubs in both the new divisions all the strong sides in one division and most of the weak ones in the other one and both winners get promoted to senior? A joke putting sides like Westy and Tulla in different divisions

Any news coming out of AGM last night?

Spot on. Couldn't get any more illogical with the divisional structure. They said the split of divisions between west and north didnt work at the lower divisions, then decide to implement at the top level!

Think they are getting a new pavilion built.
What's going on with greenvale? keep hearing they want to go down two divisions but no one wants to take their spot in senior division

Newport Digman main oval, Bryan Martyn is also out of action for the season playing on the lower grades oval instead.

Bruce Kent has ran out of money so everyone is leaving
Just announced on VTCA website and Facebook.St Albans In Senior Div .Greenvale down to Howarth shield Div 1 West.

In response to a formal request submitted by Greenvale Kangaroos Cricket Club President Mr. Bruce Kent requesting his club relinquish their position within Senior Division for the upcoming season due to a significant number of player departures, the VTCA offered the opportunity for last season's relegated Senior Division side, Tullamarine as well as all 10 of last season's North / West Division sides to put together a formal proposal to nominate to move up to Senior Division in Greenvale's place. Recently promoted premiership side Westmeadows, also approached the association requesting the opportunity to present a proposal, which they then did.

In response the Board received very professional and well compiled submissions from three clubs who were extremely keen to accept the position within the higher grade and test themselves at the top level. All three clubs presented very good cases for admission and the decision was a difficult one for the board to finalize.

After detailed and careful consideration the VTCA Board of Management are pleased to announce St. Albans Cricket Club will immediately be moved up to the Turner Shield - Senior Division to replace Greenvale Kangaroos, while Greenvale will now move down to the Howarth Shield - Division 1 West.

Whilst it is regrettable that Greenvale waited until such a late stage to make this request, it is also most encouraging to see that clubs were still very keen to pursue a position in the highest grade and were confident of immediately being competitive.

I most sincerely thank the St. Albans, Aberfeldie and Westmeadows cricket clubs for their detailed submissions and the VTCA Board of Management applauds the professional and dignified manner with which each of your clubs conducted yourselves throughout the selection process.

St Albans President Michael Else thanked the VTCA for "this exciting opportunity and we look forward to mixing it with the best clubs in the competition and we expect to be very competitive".
