According to Avondale Heights website, they have signed another Sri Lankan in Sathpath Kelum.

President is hell bent on winning a premiership - no matter what the cost it seems.

M Albers, W Suares, T Jeffrey, D Popov and now Sathpath Kelum.

A high quality top order bat is very unhappy according to my sources. Could be gone if not this season then next.

Popov and Suares gone to Seddon

Re: VTCA Thread

Warren Suares is a top bloke.

Also a good cricketer. Hope he has a stellar year back at Seddon.

Re: VTCA Thread

So less than a week to go... Can anyone tell me if their pitches are up? We have Keilor at home this week, havent been there in a week but did'nt look good then.. Lets get this board moving, bit on the boring side with 5 days to go..
Maybe previews, predictions (both season and rounds..) Maybe a final ladder, only if your really board i guess.. I'll have mine in later..

My prediction is VTCA cricket will called off by January 2008, due to Melbourne water.

top 4

Doutta
Yarraville
Keilor
Royal Park

South Caulfield to jut miss

Doutta recruited heavy. Royal Park recruited well, Yaravilles usual suspects Baker Okeefe Smart will be the main run scorers again, will miss taylor early on though. Keilor will miss Brown, 350+ runs and 15 wickets guaranteed gone, Warren Kellys 5 runs an innings will not be missed, Brne not really missed.

Spotswood to have a better year than last year and to suprise some teams this year! Grammer, McKinnon, Youlden, Hampton to fight it out for relegation.

Re: VTCA Thread

I'll agree with B.O.W and say that Doutta will be way better than last year, but Sth Caulfield and Y.C.C to fight out for it as well.

Round 1
6/10/2007 & 13/10/2007
Doutta v Yarraville Club (MOTR- close one- early preview perhaps??)
Old Essendon Grammar v Keilor (I play for OEG so i gotta)
Chelsea v McKinnon
Hampton v South Caulfield (In an early upset, i like the look of Hampton)
Youlden Parkville v Altona North
Spotswood v Royal Park\Brunswick

And it's finally made official... OEG have recruited a guy called Tim Linsey, to arrive on Thursday, which is smashingly good..

http://content-www.cricinfo.com/sussex/content/player/16843.html

And also our new capt coach, Warren Pereara from Greenvale.

New recruit should be handy for Grammer, but do the grammer need another bowler with Mettleman, Rankin? Would have thought they needed another bat. Dont think Linsey will be cutting any blokes lunch down at the grammer or troubling any of the local girls at one bar either.

Interesting to see how Hampton have recruited for this season. Bottomley will be a big loss at the top of the order, and would have made runs in Senior Division. Blokes like Docksey, Crouch and Justin Ferguson should do well in the top grade though.

Jacana, geez thats a fair drop in standard.Doubt there will be games this week anyway so will have to wait another week to see who's playing where.

TOP 4

KEILOR - Expect big years from Porter & R Marcy
ROYAL PARK - Quality players with Contessa a match winner
HAMPTON - Will step up and teams will struggle on their wicket
SOUTH CAULFIELD - Russel Bros !!!!

Re: VTCA Thread

Teams will definitely struggle on the Hampton wicket.

AWStC would have to be favourites in Senior A, should fight it out with Strathmore. Druids will find it tough to cover the loss of Fraser. Willi CYMS might be the surprise packet, particularly with their bowling attack.

A lot of teams in the middle ground like Mentone, Brighton, Hoppers Crossing, Bentleigh and Beaumaris that will be fighting it out for a finals spot.

Melbourne High and East Keilor to be in the relegation zone.

Re: VTCA Thread

Hampton?????? I would think they would be happy if they survive relegation.
Top 4
Sth Caulfield
Royal Park
Then anyone of about 6 sides this year (not Hampton)
Apart from the 2 sides mentioned above, it will be pretty even I think.
