big weekend this week for willy U/17's got the A's and B's in the grand finals.
A's havent played altona all year due to a washout soo both teams are going to be curious about players from both teams.
hopefully we get on top early and put altona under alot of pressure

thats not very nice young fella.......maybe sour grapes........?

Sounds like very sour grapes there dogga.
Cant wait for the granny on saturday.
Looking forward to playing Altona, i would have loved to play Werribee and beat them but oh well cant control other results.
Hopefully i can win another toss and bat and get over 200 on the board, very hard chasing big scores on day 2 as you have already said.
Bad luck to Altona North they had a good year and were 1 of 2 teams to knock us over so bad luck boys better luck next year.
Looking back on the game i thought Altona North bowled very well before the drinks break and the game was in the balance at 3 for 100 at drinks off 26 i think it was after i got out very cheaply.
Full credit to Dan getting 100 but i thought it was Conway who changed the game, he hit some boundaries and spit put in my opinion too many ppl on the boundary and gave us some very easy runs.
Altona North were also lacking 1 bowler i think, Auciello, Bonnicci, McArdle(Cricket Addict) Frydas and Kelly were very good bowlers but the others were very much below par and we scored 98 runs off the 11 overs bowled by the other bowlers and thats where we won the game.

2nd day Altona started off very well, seeing Conway off but i think that McKenzie and Fincher really tightened the screws and bowled 6 overs for 3 runs and this is where we were able to sneak some overs in and this put too much pressure on the batsmen coming in and they had to score too quickly. Well done to Auciello and Kelly for both making 50's but i think especially with Frydas in next they batted a little bit slow.
But it is always easy with hindsight.

Bad luck to Werribee, in my opinion they are easily in the top 2 sides in the competition but you have to win the semi final and Altona were to good on the day so bring it on this weekend.

i have heard spiteri hasbeen working hard on his bowling, woulda been smart for the captain to bring himself on
ur a smart captain jordan, bringing urself on at the end, clean up the tail :p
day one was pretty easy for willi, with a fair bit of luck, they got a big score which was always gonna be hard chasing
got off to a good start just a bit slow,
but a good effort from the a.n boys
gongrats to willi
too strong all season
good luck to altona
and that is all from me,
on that note, i retire from jnr cricket :p

Re: WDCA Under 17s

17A's final is at Grant Reserve, Altona. Game starts at 8:15am. Probably due to seniors finals.
Surprising that it's there considering Willi finished first.

Re: WDCA Under 17s

It was interesting just going through all the posts.
Talking about how Willi will be so dominant and only Werribee can challenge them.
How far the top of the top 4 were so much ahead of the bottom of the top 4.
And in the end Willi end up choking and losing to Altona. Not to say Altona wasn't any good they played better than they did imo.
Well it's almost the end of cricket season as another season goes past. One more season for me in juniors hopefully it's a good one.
