The 07/08 Grand Finals are upon us and here are my tips;

A-Turf Newport-Digman to end GU's reign of WDCA domination in a thriller
B-Turf Newport-Digman to beat Wyndhamvale comfortably
C-Turf Glenorden to beat Point Cook

What is everyones thoughts?

I'm not going give any tips, obvious where my allegiances are.

One thing is for sure, we wont be winning the toss and bowling!! Not sure what the Wyndhamvale captain was thinking in the semi!

Re: Williamstown and District Cricket Association (WADCA)

Digman to Win

Dano Lee to get 8 fa.. first innings, 7 second

Charlie Guerrera to do a heart string after his first over, because the pitch is too flat for his liking!!

I play in that side and I was bewildered by the decision. Oh well, his choice. He had the final say in the result.

should be some good grand finals this year. be an interesting A Turf Granny. I still think GU should win

Re: Williamstown and District Cricket Association (WADCA)

this weekend should be a cracker after the first two days of the A & B turf grand finals. In the A Turf GU have the runs on the board which is always handy, but digman showing that they are a big chance in this grand final. In the B Turf a very interesting weekend coming up, wyndhamvale are effectively 2/20 in the second innings, should be a cracker!

Re: Williamstown and District Cricket Association (WADCA)

surely, you still play out the final day for a bit of pride? crickets a funny game

Dawes Medal, Frew could win it. he just bowls so many overs to take so many wickets. still a good effort though

My tip is Hinton from Imps. Made a truck load of runs, decent average

to be honest game was over when it was called off common sense prevailed ! what you are saying he bowls heaps of overs to get hes wickets really doesnt come into it if hes fit enough to do it then he should be rewarded and to be honest cant believe he hasnt won it before to many players taken votes of him unlike your selection hinton has no one

Re: Williamstown and District Cricket Association (WADCA)

Seen in the local rag Willi Imps advertising for a coach. Thought R Hinton was going to get the job?

Any recruiting news for the new season?

ANA about to appoint a assistant coach, a former melton player. Not sure on the name yet. Opens the batting apparently. Definally will be a help, as ANA batting was lacking at times against the top 4 A turf teams.

Can anyone knock them off next year? They seem to keep their player list pretty stable each year for A Turf.

Our captain coach rates him very highly, having played with him at Melton previously. Captain coach, believes the new bloke will dominate in the batting and also bowl first change, so more than handy pick up for us, time will tell i guess.

to be honest all this talk doesnt matter untill the person in the convo i dunno who it is yet gets out and have a run........

all i can say is david croft for instance......battered at 4 or 5 at gellibrand and made some big scores......bats at 9 or 10 at willy and plays a different role........bowls well still.......

i look at it from this point of view......willy would smash g.u....its a different ball game..pressure intensity grounds wickets......g.u would smash sunshine.......g.u would beat only sunshine in the group we were in this year maybe get lucky with 1 or 2 more wins........

from my involvment with wdca only a hand full will cut it at the top grade in the subbies......
