If not B turf then at what level?

You sound very cocky for someone who is from the Churches comp, I would be pulling your head in a bit CHAMP, you sound like you are coming into our comp to save it, don't for get where you come from mate....

If you're thinking about going into the A turf, you have no chance, you will get beaten quite easily by the top 5 sides + you might want to prove yourself before sprukin on here!:(

I suppose i am cocky if a top 3 team in churches cant take it up to Colts,Hoppers,ANA. i'll shoot myself and if we are to grow we need to compete against the big boys i.e. diggers lavo, G.U. inorder for us to gauge were we are at and what we need to do moving forward i.e recruiting.
Without being puished you cant grow thats the way i see it.
You may be right start in B turf but to me thats not growing we might as well stay were we are.
Quite frankly you are the one that sounds arrogant how would you know how good we are and who we have coming on board next year .
We run a good ship & we have every intention of attracting new player to the club come hell or high water.
New Rooms. New Comp. New Vision. Go Us !
Just need a new turf table at Langshaws but Altona Green will do just nicely for now.
thanks maybe see you next year CHAMP

Mate, If you want to go straight into the A turf go straight ahead.
You are coming from a comp that has been running turf for a very short period of time, so my suggestion was to go into the B turf and see where you are at and what you need moving forward.
The last thing you want as a club is to move comps and get smacked everyweek because you have bitten off more then you can chew.
I don't know how good or bad you guys are, do you know how good or bad we are as a comp?
Honestly, new rooms, new table, new vision means nothing when you are being embarressed on the cricket field.
You would beat ANA & Hoppers but not Colts.

Good luck with your move I hope you do well, can't wait to see how good/bad you go

Come on WRR, we both know they will bite off more then they can chew if they go straight into the A turf. Not that the comp will allow it anyway (my opinion).
Point cook would have to go up I'd imagine.
They have come from the Churches turf comp which has been running for about 5 years.
I'm all for new clubs coming into our comp but I think they will have to prove themselves first, our association couldn't make an educated decision on how good or bad they are.
The only way to do that is to put them in at a level close enough to where they have come from.

I honestly hope they come in and do well, but you can't come into a comp acting like we owe them something and have to put them straight into A turf.

Don't over estimate the stardard in the WDCA A Turf it is pretty average at the moment just look at the 2 side playing off in the grand final W'Vale is a very poor batting side and GU are a pretty poor bowling side. Speaking of my club West Newport we missed the finals by one game and played a min of 7 players aged between 15 & 21 all year. If the stardard was where it used to be we would have finished bottom two. Even POP GUN would make runs in the A Turf which says alot.

If these sides coming in from the churches comp pick up 2 or 3 decent players they would be competitive in A Turf and wouldn't it be better having 12 sides in the A Turf where everyone plays each other once.

Who ever comes into the comp from the churches will have to start in B turf, and its still not gauranteed to make finals in that grade anyway. When Point cook crossed over they started in C turf and still didnt end up winning the granny.

Yes the standard has dropped in the willi comp, though the same can be said for the churches.

I dont know if Point Cook will go up to A turf as the churches have a access to their ground next year.

Point Cook bad example they only played Matts never were apart of turf.
Small club as well.
Do they have a turf venue?
2 good batts back in the day.the rest ho hum!!!
Mate ive played turf in different comps all over the place & our wickets were never condusive to good scores but with better tracks i think the batsmen and pick up 2 or 3 will hold us in good stead quite confident thank you.
at the end of the day we will meet your pres & we will listen to there vision for the future and see if we want to be apart of that.
i know u dont need us but these coments are small minded and inmature.
i dont think anyone owes us anything or do we ask for a leg up. my point is we would be more competitive than some of the current A turf teams thats all. B turf has to many team in it for mine.

C'mon Stumpy....The Altona Roosters are yet to make a decision on where they will be playing, when we decide I will post it on big cricket for all to see. At no point has anyone from our club said in anyway that we would come into any comp and blitz...we know it will be a struggle, but the huge one is right we would like to at least be competitive no matter where we play. If you don't plant the seed nothing will grow!!:D:D

I believe the approach was about playing not coaching and I am glad we did not go ahead with it because in hindsight you have nothing to offer us that could benefit our club.
