Re: World Cup Fantasy League Draft

Okay, maybe this will work, and maybe it won't. :D
Never hurts to try.

The World Cup is almost upon us, and there's still some good players available,
so let's move on to the Lightning Round!

Everyone gets 2 picks in this round!

Except for A•|dan and Ljp86, who had a leftover from the previous round. They get 3 picks!

Hope that's clear. A•|dan and Ljp86 have 3 picks. Everybody else has 2.

And yeah, this "everybody picks at once" format sure has moved a heck of a lot faster than the old format. I'm sorry we didn't switch to it sooner! Oh well.

Re: World Cup Fantasy League Draft

Now that the competition has started, i think we should be able to pick the remaining players one time.

I'd love to keep going, but it seems a little unfair to pick more ahead of A•|dan.

What do the rest of you think?

Re: World Cup Fantasy League Draft

What if we stop for now, and then sometime later (like, after the group stage) pick a certain number more players. Their points would only count from that point on, but it would give us a chance to pick some in form players. You could even have some kind of 'trade' period there. Up to you, though, you're the boss :D

Re: World Cup Fantasy League Draft

In the interests of being fair to A•|dan, and letting him "preserve" his 3 regular picks, how about these 2 rules for the 9th round:

1. Everybody gets 3 picks (all at once again---first come, first served), but they're limited to the 4 teams playing tomorrow, Kenya, Canada, Scotland, and Australia (I think there's still 2 Aussies left to be picked, right?).

2. Since there's a limited number of big name players available on those squads, the first person who picks only gets to pick one player at first, the second person only gets to pick 2, and then the third (and following) players get to pick all 3 at the same time. Only after at least 2 people have picked all 3 do those first 2 players get the remainder of their picks.

I know that second rule is a little convoluted and confusing, but it's really the only fair way to prevent one person from monopolizing all the big players from those countries. If you agree to it wilbix, you and I can be the first two (unless someone else is online right now too), and then everyone else can get the regular 3 picks and it'll be a lot less confusing.

What do you think?

Re: World Cup Fantasy League Draft

I'm ok with it, sounds fair enough. Cleazer, I think it's the 10th round though if i'm correct, i have 9 players already on my list. I don't mine being first. I'll go with J. Davidson - Canada

Re: World Cup Fantasy League Draft

Okay, then that's how we'll do it.

I'll take:
Geoff Barnett (Canada)
Thomas Odoyo (Kenya)

Everybody else can now make 3 picks from the teams playing tomorrow. (And marlyminks and I can make 2 and 1 more picks respectively after at least 2 other players have made their three picks from those 4 teams.)

For anyone who needs them, here's the current ODI batting averages for:
Canada
Kenya
Scotland

Just make sure you pick someone who's actually on the world cup squad (the lists are here).

I think the 2 Australians left are Symonds and Haddin, right?

A•|dan, you have 3 regular picks (from any team), plus 3 picks from the 4 teams plaing tomorrow.
Everyone else, you can now make your 3 picks from these 4 teams.
