The Lounge 2

Terry the difference between Perth and Sydney is our heat waves dont last days. Usually only the day, like yesterday when the mercury touched 42 at 2pm. By 3pm a southerly buster and thunderstorms had come thru dropping the temps by about 15%. It will be a coolish 22/23 today.

Even tho I have said in the past, 'NO MORE DOGS AS IS TOO HEARTBREAKING TO SAY GOODBYE ' and far too often, we always relent as we need the companionship in our golden years. I guess it makes up for having no grand children. 😔
How's your little fur nose been doing? Working on the pics, I hope?
We've been in a real crisis that keeps deepening. We have had to let Sari out at least twice during the night for weeks and are nearing exhaustion. She's not only incontinent but demented and has other health issues. I've been suffering from a lack of sleep due to the long interruptions each night and so has my wife although she doesn't admit it. Yet she has always benefited from me getting up most of the time. Yesterday I talked it over with my MIL and we agreed that I'll leave it to my wife completely to get up during the night. Now I hear she wants to take sleeping pills as of tonight perhaps tacitly assuming that I'll get up at night. Will see what happens.

I'm having my own pet issues too Thomas. My 12yo dog is becoming incontinent too but does strive to get out the dog/cat door, often failing leaving a trail of wee. I have lots of old towels I use frequently.

My new cat is the real menace constantly trying to steal food. Digging into my scrap bin if I fail to put it up high, even stealing food off my plate, licking my washing up if I don't do it immediately, swipping at my dogwith sharp claws, scratching and biting me, ..., it goes on but I am making slow and steady progress changing her behaviours. She responds well to a water spray bottle and me growling.
Other than all that, she's a lovely cat and a dedicated ratter.

Sorry to hear about the problems with your pooches guys. My pup is 10 weeks old and is incontinent. Just joshing, but you'd think so given the number of times she needs to urinate every day. Drip here drip there, unfortunately not always on the special piss pads we lay for her. But he is learning.l

The pics are coming soon Thomas. The longer you wait the more variety you will see.

Here's my wild Poosh Cat bequethed to me despite my reticance.

Poosh in a lazy striking mood.

Enemy easily defeated so time for another nap.
She a big Cat with a very long tail, and tale.

One of her favourite tricks is thowing up if she's overfed from her glutinous raids of stealing to killing and eating insects and small lizards in my yards. Truly, cats are a menace to our delicate wildlife in Australia 🇦🇺. Still, I've got high fences and she doesn't stray, thank goodness for that and she's very clean in all ways.
She's very affectionate too, wakes me up with a lick on my nose, but she's very sensitive of her feet which I warned my nieces and nephew of. In demonstrating she got me good with a deep claw to my arm. Blood flowed. She's half wild, 6 years old with 2 past owners who both died 3 years after adopting her. I'm not superstitious, but third time lucky. 🙄

😊That makes me chuckle, Terry. I'd certainly be fed up if I was bitten by my own cat.
Too bad you're having problems, too. In for a penny...,one should think.
Good description of what's going on in your home.:thumbsu:

First thought it was Vince's cat? Do you have any idea why she doesn't stray? Does that mean she finds all those critters in your backyard then? 🤗

It was Vince 's cat Thomas. His Ashes reside in my side pantry on the topshelf above all the cat Poosh's stuff. My dog Denny has the next shelf down.

I feel strongly committed to the care of Poosh, knowing the consequences for her if I don't. Jokingly I offered her to my Cousin 's four children. On leaving my cousin said "I can now understand how much of a handful she is".
Yet for all her foibles she is highly affectionate and playful.

Was all set to post pics of Kobe but believe it or not, told the uploaded file is too large for the server to process. Admin was supposed to fix this photo size problem. gggrrr. 😡
Hi Craig, that's a common problem with overly large files whether downloaded, uploaded or emailed.
With my default Samsung Gallery I can crop and more importantly for you is to go to the picture in your gallery, click edit and find the "downsize option". With big pictures I usually downsize to ~40% to make them ok to upload or email.
Many picture files are unnecessarily too large for sharing.
Yet Messenger does big files very nicely. My daughters and I use it a lot.

Western Australia now boasts the worlds longest and our nations largest electric vehicle network. Connecting 7,000km of WA across 110 charging points.

Seems to me that is not sufficient charging stations for that distance. WA is an enormous state as Terry will attest.

It is the biggest state in the world, it is big.
The number of EV chaging stations is increasing but several years ago many EVs rolled up to recharge only to find the station was "Out of Order". ☹️

Guys I haven't left the forum. My mum has been ill for a while with mental health issues, and today she underwent a hip replacement, things are starting to look up for us now, so I will be back soon! 🤗
