    Wicket Keeping

Oh. The other thing I've never been sure about. When a keeper does a stumping. Does the ball have to hit the stumps or is it the hand that the ball is In too ?

    Wicket Keeping

Yeah, balls bowled. I always wondered if its in part due to the two faced nature of wickets at this level or if it was just crap positioning! (Its my boss who keeps normally.... so I have to be careful about being critical :P) If i take it on full time, I will be upset because I am a bowler...

    Wicket Keeping

Well, I have been asked to wicket keep for the midweek match this week, (ok I semi volunteered as I 'm not getting to bowl or bat in the midweek games ever and felt it could be a good experience) Just wondering if anyone has any useful tips, I'm a reasonable slip fielder, and have the agility...

    Art Of Sliding While Fielding.....

I learnt to dive and fall properly through being a goalkeeper in football (soccer). It really is about getting low and having horizontal not vertical motion. however, I am much more of a diver in the field than a slider!

    Wrist Spin Bowling (Part Four)

Surely this is counter intuitive? Air should like smooth surfaces , as rough surfaces generate more friction, and cause more aerodynamic problems/ and thus, when seam is pointed one way, the air is forced over the smoother surfaces ., and as more of the surface is facing that way, it goes...

    Ashes action on ECB TV

What is annoying me, is that you cannot pick up the ashes highlights on demand from itv..... ECB are typically 2-3 minutes per session.

H I personally am not sure, in reality, this thread is where I get almost all my bowling history lessons from! Luckily, living in cambridge, I might be able to find out some information from the uni libraries!

On the brink of giving up

Right, you might hate me after a few things in this post, but anyway. It may look a bit negative, but read through it. First up, We all start batting at number 11. So what, bowling is what cricket is all about xD You've been playing matches for 2 months and yet you're expecting to open both the...

    Wrist Spin Bowling (Part Four)

Yeah, had a bat bowl and field. Batting they were bowling short on a bowling machine to let you smack the ball around to show the wagon wheels etc Bowling there was 2 things, first just 20 odd minutes of bowling down the net to practise and get some bowling data, showing ball movement pace etc...

    Follow through

The key, is to get into a position that you are able to accelerate from for running. Everyone is different though. If you check out Sachin Tendulka For example : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kdBae8juAkg&feature=related http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XVcpV_38JLc&feature=related He has the bat...

Cricket coaching mats - opinions please

If you could provide some more information on good ways to use it , and some innovative ideas etc, rather than sounding like a robot... you might have a bit more luck here! Especially at £100+ a pop, would like a bit more information on how this is any more advanced than, as mas said, a tee and...

Sledging.. How far is too far?????

In risk of starthing this again... The umpire is not the referee as per rugby/football etc. He is there to moderate between the two teams more than referee. If you know you edged it, and I know you edged it, and you stand there because the umpire is unsure/deaf/whatever then two tihngs , a) your...
