Re: Ballarat Cricket Association 09/10 For finals, I think there should be a small write up at least for the 2s. I played in one of the best games of cricket in the 2nds on the weekend (nth v point), but no coverage from the courier, as you would expect.

Re: Ballarat Cricket Association 09/10 Yeah someone pulled the pegs out of a corner on the pitch. Not sure who did it, very suspicious though. Obviously it wasn't any of our boys, the pitch needed so much drying before 1pm, why would we risk being washed out when the only chance of making...

Re: Ballarat Cricket Association 09/10 Yes Sven, was unbelievable wasn't it? Hit the ball so cleanly it felt like every ball he faced was about to clear the fence. One off Ash Ringin would've landed in the next postcode had it not been caught in the leaves of the huge tree near the grandstand...

Re: Ballarat Cricket Association 09/10 Very good question. He has found himself in trouble recently, made some bad choices. I thought he was moving to Geelong but this clearance is a bit out of left field, maybe Sven can shed some light on the issue.

Re: Ballarat Cricket Association 09/10 I like the idea of only playing one day matches. It should definately be in effect in the lower grades (3s, 4s, 5s), where teams batting out their 80 overs is an achievement in itself and games are often finished roughly at the tea break on day 2.

Re: Ballarat Cricket Association 09/10 Yes, Darley teams are great at coming back for a beer, no matter what has taken place on the field. Its good sharing afternoon tea and a chat with them, they are generally a good bunch of blokes.

Re: Ballarat Cricket Association 09/10 I think the question on everyone's lips is: When will Ash Barker get his chance?

Re: Ballarat Cricket Association 09/10 Too true, Steve. The league needs every club's co-operation to boost numbers. It is ridiculous that members of unco-operative clubs can complain about having no umpires when they have done nothing to help the situation.

    Allrounder Comparison

Re: Allrounder Comparison Another fact left out is Sobers' ability to turn a ton into a big one, whilst Kallis has a heap of scores between 100 and 120

Re: Ballarat Cricket Association Perhaps Steven I will become a senior umpire (which you suggested I do after another failure last season) as my playing abilities are clearly limited. However, I can't run the bar because I am not yet 18 years of age and don't have an RSA.
