I think the result should stand.

It's not possible to have a 'bowl off' or 'super over' with this sim, so that's irrelevant.

For Season 2 T25 Comp, obviously a rematch can be arranged (but I believe it should be on the same ground, with the same pitch and same two teams selected, there should be no changes allowed).

As for Season 1, Jolldo said it in the thread that in the event of a draw, the top of the table Cheetahs would win, that rule should stand.

The same way the 1-match OD Grand Final rule stood when we asked in the SF thread.

This stipulations will be added to the rules list.

For an fairer system and no "rules on the go" this needs to be done.

I was intially happy to let the tie stand but after a nights sleep I feel that perhaps another game will be the right way to go.

As long as its done quick and easy there shouldnt be an issue.

Lets move forward together from this.

For what it's worth I intend to improve the BFFCL rules with this addition.
" In the event of a tie, the game will be replayed using the same players selected, on a random pitch, on a neutral ground".
That way it can be done straight away.

You know what, it wrecks my credibility whatever decision i make.

Cheetahs Win - I'm called biased, unfair, cheat etc....

Rematch - I go against my word when originally asked the question. Whatever i say from now on will be essentially meaningless.

And Frodo, don't give me this "rules on the go" crap. No matter what happens "rules on the go" had to be implemented in this situation.

In all fairness, I don't think so.
The situation was that the teams shared the trophy. Now that happens in many sports, even the Brownlow has shared winners.
You made a decision that did not comply with the rules. That will always come back to bite you. Being a team captain, Bigcricket Moderator and BCFCL administrator has so many conflicts of interest that you were always going to put yourself into an awkward position.
I agree that a shared trophy was not the best result, but you could have waited a day and sought opinion.
Changing your mind doesn't wreck your credibility. We've all said something, slept on it, and changed our minds next morning. The main thing is to do the right thing. That's what you get most respect for.

No replay. Results stands IMO.

Jolldo said it before the game and no-one complained, now that there is a draw you all try to over turn the result. Just accept the defeat. If it was your team you'd probably take the win. By changing it now it is more "rules on the run" crap.

The result should stand, Cheetahs should win.

The verdict was 3-0 in favor of a Cheetahs win........

That's been my decision all along and i doubt that will change tbh.

It seems that the general (unbiased) public are about 50/50 on this anyway.

Well this is interesting (haven't been on-line for a couple of days due to the net)

IMO Cheetahs should claim victory.

'No rules on the go', yet if Jolldo changes his original decision now, then it's more 'rules on the go', which is what we're trying to stop...

The results stands, it was a good T25 Comp (obviously there was going to be a few talking points) and now we move on to the regular season

On a side note, be thankful it happened in the T25 Comp, not one of the main comps of the season.

No, because it is played as an off season/pre season comp.

Definitely not a major competition.

jurassic park.. with a strike rate of well over 200.. leaves the ball alone... surely we've got a problem here... i'd take thuis result and move on if he got run out trying to sneak a bye.. but just to leave the ball laone and walk off a draw... nupp... sumthing needs fixing here

Yes, I want the whole T25 comp played over again because my team finished 2nd last. It's not fair :rolleyes:

IMHO the T25 was not a good idea, but to denigrate it as an off season competition does seem to denigrate all those that played in it.

Never mind.

I do find it hard to accept the justification that the administrator said before play " If it's a draw, my side wins".

But I guess we must move on to the 'on' season. Put this all behind us. I would doubt if there will be another T25 here, so maybe it all doesn't matter.

I've tested out a 3 day test game. It is good. Maybe worth considering in the next 'off' season".
