Australia In England, The Ashes 2013

Amazing effort from the tail again to make it a score we should never loose from. Two wickets from Siddle and some tight bowling all round set the scene for tomorrow.

God, Warner is dumb. I love that he reviewed that despite his skipper thinking he'd hit it. Clarke compounded it by saying that he backed 'Davey' 100 percent.

Aus reviews aren't getting any less amusing.

Fantastic innings by Clarke. Might end up with Eng retaining the Ashes this test but at least he kept them out in the field for 2 days.

Australia are 44 for 1. Can England survive the Test or will they pull off something incredible?

Yes the miracle has arrived in the form of English weather. only ourselves to blame for not winning the first test when it was on a platter really. Some ordinary umpiring again with the light situation, if we had have got them in and taken a couple of wickets it would have made a rain effected last day very exciting. Well there goes the Ashes. Till next summer then.

On-wards and upwards for Australia. At least Australia have some positives to build on now, like showing some grit against a tough opponent and Steven Smith's improvement in the longer formats. I'd never have figured he could succeed in tests but no one would have said that about Daniel Vettori when he first came on the scene either. He needs to keep improving like the rest of the side as we all know that there is a LOT of hard work to be done, to get them back up to their former high standards.

I wasn't up when the whole "bad light controversy" went down. Going by news footage, I can sympathise with Clarke's bewilderment. Did either umpire use a light meter?

3/35 at lunch on the final day. Interesting times at the moment, another one or two wickets early in the middle session would really shake the game up.

Off for rain again with the score at 3/37. Looking very dark out there and more rain on the way. Siddle hit Bell right on the thumb too just before the rain came, Bell looks to be hurt as well.

More than likely heading for a draw at this point. It's a shame because had things gone Australia's way they could be 2-1 up heading into the fourth test.

The rain did stop for a while but it has started again and it's still quite dark out there. This one is headed for a draw for sure now.

Well, a disappointing way to end this match but our batting got us into the must win situation in this test and the weather came to the party for England.

I feel for Clarke. He's stuck in the position of having it all on his shoulders. The opposition know it, he is the only one they are scared of.

Our other senior batsmen are either utter numbskulls (Warner), inexperienced at international level (Rogers) or worked-out and mentally fragile (Watson.)

Well that was lame, pretty sure the same thing happened to Australia last time we were over there.

Rain killed 05, and in 09 it was almost identical where we blew the first test when it was ours and then played like chumps in the Lords test. Funny how history repeats itself. Well next test then, it will be interesting to see if the batting lineup can repeat the dose. Smith is really the only one that truly appears to be improving and developing as a player and Rogers seems to be due a big one as well. Good luck boys and bring in Bird.

England won the toss and will bat. The pitch appears to be tacky and there is moisture. we will have to bowl very well and have them dispatched for 250 today.
