Australia in India

Re: Australia in India

That's Ponting gone now to Singh (again) ... close call apparently - but hit just inside the line.

This is only the first day, the pitch could deteriorate.

Does that have anything to do with this topic?
You talk as if the Australians wouldn't have appealed for that. There was enough doubt in it to deserve an appeal and the umpire gave it.

Not sure why they don't have referrals for this series after all the controversy that happened the last time.

Coz haydos would still be batting, smashing them. im sure u wouldnt want tha now would u????????????????????????????????????????????

Re: Australia in India

Clarke out in the last over, India clawing back to 4 for 254 at stumps. Big moment for Cameron White tomorrow, will be interesting to see how he goes.

Why would I question the absence of the review system then? If he is not out, he should be batting out there.

Not sure what your point is? As I read it, AB is saying that they should have the referral system in place, in an attempt to cut down on the controversial decisions.

Sure, he'd rather Hayden was back in the hutch, I'm sure he'd rather have him back in there fairly and squarely rather than due to poor umpiring. The same goes for when India bats, if they're out they're out, if not lets enjoy the contest between bat and ball.

Also, whilst I'm posting here, a word of warning for all members. If I continue to see comments that could be perceived to be racist or anti this country/anti that country I will start to delete posts and warn/suspend members.

I'm all for lively debate/banter (call it what you will) but there are boundaries that have no need to be crossed. Talk about the series, the games and things that happen by all means, but lets leave out personal attacks (members and players alike), baseless statements and general unpleasantness.

Take this as your first and last friendly warning.

Any problems with this then pm to discuss in private rather than on the board.

Re: Australia in India

Hear hear. Is White the next man in? Looking forward to that. Can't wait to catch the highlights on TV later - I can't believe it's so long since I last saw international cricket!

Watson should be in next, then Haddin and then White at eight. That's a pretty long batting line-up, if those three can get going plus Hussey, India could spend another full day in the field.

Australia are 4/254 at stumps, Hussey is 46 not out and Watson will most likely join him at the start of day two.

Re: Australia in India

not to mention that none of lee, johnson and clark can really be called bunnies!

here's hoping that those three don't need to do anything though. I wanna see a big day for watto and bear white

Re: Australia in India

Watson prods at Sharma and finds an inside edge onto his off-stump. He is out for two and Australia are 5/263, Hussey has just brought up his 50, his 10th in test cricket. Wicketkeeper Brad Haddin is on one.

Re: Australia in India

Watson ain't up to test cricket, he was a mile to late on that Sharma dismissal, no inside edge just too late.

I dunno what there obsession with Watson is but the selectors need to realize he is shit very quickly like the rest of us already know.

Watson is a very good one-day player but I don't think he is up to it in the tests, not yet anyway.

The selectors want to play an all-rounder, so Watson will get a game if Symonds isn't there.

Watson is NOT a very good one day player at all, he's average at best.

There is better options out there, we don't need a 4th seamer who can't bat.

I'd rather see Dave Hussey batting at 6 and bowling his spinners over there instead of that useless Watson.

Watson is a decent one-day player, a batting average of 35.08 is nothing to sneeze at although his bowling average could be a little lower (32.10). He's one of the better one-day all-rounders we have. Who else besides David Hussey could fill that role? Don't say Cam White either because he can't bowl.

Cam White;)

Beau Casson would of been a better option even, we'll see when Watson bowls 6 overs in the 1st inns and 4 in the 2nd inns.

Casson as an all-rounder? You've got to remember, the Australian selectors will pick an all-rounder for the time regardless of whether the team needs one or not.

Re: Australia in India

Hussey once again shows why he is an exceptional talent. Currently 105*, his 9th ton and is averaging a stagering 71.47 at the moment. A bit of trivia, everytime that Hussey has scored a ton we havent lost.

Straightbreaks White in, hope he scores some runs or he runs the risk of having a depressing one test match career.

Watson just bamboozled by his selection, Jaques could of slotted in as an extra batsman and gone in with 3 pace bowlers, a leggie and some part timers from Clarke

I know you hate White but he would do a better job than Watson at no6
