Australia in India

Re: Australia in India

Australia's 7/378.

Australia done pretty well, another fifty or so, should close India out.

Wish I could watch this game, stupid cable tv channels, they should be free.

Re: Australia in India

Just as we suspected, we could score 1000 runs but with our bowling attack, that wouldnt be enough.

Re: Australia in India

Yet if the Aussies do fail to bowl out the Indians twice, there will be 1 player blamed, even though for India it was the pace bowlers who did the damage

I know you hate White but he would do a better job than Watson at no6

I don't hate White, I just think he needs to work on his game, particularly on his bowling in order to warrant a spot full time. White is a decent batsman and has the ability to score very, very quickly. His bowling is more part-time, those saying he should be picked for his bowling are kidding themselves, there's no way White should be a front-line spinner, his bowling just isn't good enough.

Im my opinion, White is stuck between all-rounder and proper batsman. His batting is just below the standard required to gain a place full time on the Australian side and his bowling isn't good enough to warrant being picked as an all-rounder. At the moment, he's a batter who bowls a bit. One-Dayers will always be White's game I reckon, he would have to have a great season with the bat for Victoria to be in the selector's minds about being picked as a batter for the test side. Having said that, I'm okay with him being in the one-day team.

Re: Australia in India

Lee strikes in the second over of the day. A quick delivery swinging from outside off, Gambhir tries to work it away but he is too early and the ball straightens and hits him right in front.

Gambhir gone for 21, and India are now 1/70. Dravid is the new batsman.

Re: Australia in India

Johnson!! Johnson gets rid of the dangerman Sehwag. Full and wide outside off-stump and Sehwag flays at it with a drive but only gets an edge to Hayden at first slip. Silly shot from Sehwag but Johnson's move to around the wicket proves to be an effective one.

2/76 now, Dravid up to 5. Tendulkar walks to the crease.

Re: Australia in India

Oh Johnson again!! A slower ball from over the wicket to Tendulkar, the ball was nice and full with Sachin completely misjudging it and he pops the ball up to give Cam White his first catch in test cricket.

Tendulkar is out for 13, India are 3/94 and this match just became a little more interesting. Laxman in now.

Re: Australia in India

Mitch Johnson!! Another wicket for Johnson, a fullish delivery that seams away very slightly but Laxman can't resist and succeeds in edging it to Haddin.

India slip to 4/106, Johnson has 3/30.

Re: Australia in India

Might go over to BigFooty and check the "Johnson is not up to playing Tests" thread that some nimrod started this morning.

Re: Australia in India

Watson gets a wicket. Manages to swing one to Dravid and looked plumb but Dravid's disappointed reaction suggests he may have hit it first. The replays disagree, showing the ball probably hit the pad first.

Nonetheless, Dravid is out for a fighting half century (51) and that gives Watson some much needed confidence.

India slip to 5/155 with Dhoni the last of the recognised batsman to come in.

Re: Australia in India

Superb from Johnson today and even Watson rolled his arm over and got Dravid out. All though it sounds a little high.
