Australia in South Africa

Re: Australia in South Africa

i didnt mind their performance. they didnt seem to take it as seriously and put a few junior players in, which is a good idea. the senior players can definitely play T20s, their records prove so, its just that they are lacking structure and game plans. they seem to all be trying to act individually instead of for the team. they also are caught between working around ones and twos every ball and hitting boundaries, which leads to some rash shots. i think they should have come up with a solid plan for each batsmen as they get out in the middle. one can work the singles for the other and the other go big, instead of both not really doing either. or if theyre both going then let them do whatever they want.

and i have to say this, where is symonds? whether he has been in good form or not or annoying CA he should be in the T20 side without a doubt. he brings sides home just with his presence and is good at everything involved in it. even if its just for the T20s for now, let him play. theres only going to be one way for him to get back into the side, and thats to play cricket, and if the selectors deny such a good player as him then they are going to miss him.

symonds is the best T/20 player in the world bar none, on abilty and perforance, they really should make him play in a cape. even the ODIs and tests hes of great value, but im sure you all know where i stand on the symonds debate. people seem to forget that he and he alone stopped the indians from beating us in the last test series here, yeah he should have been givin out early in that innings but the score card said he wasnt. as far as i know he hasnt made himself availble for national selection yet, but he will and im guessing a lot of people in this forum will have to eat a bit of humble pie when he does. way way way to good to write him off. yet the same people who say he"s out of form and gone all have hussey in their ashes test teams.

Re: Australia in South Africa

Mike Hussey gets his fifty at a decent rate, Aussies 5 for 231 off 43.3 overs.

Re: Australia in South Africa

Amla walks after a very weak appeal from Haddin and first slip. 1/17 in the 4th over, Bracken with the wicket.

Earlier, Australia made 7/286, Mike Hussey top scored with 83 not out, Brad Haddin made 53, James Hopes scored a handy 38 near the end of the innings and Ricky Ponting hit 37.

Morne Morkel and Dale Steyn took two wickets but all the quicks took some damage throughout the Australian innings.

Re: Australia in South Africa

a think he would make a great player if he could do what he does at state level at international level. some players are like that and they just have to notice it. and finally the selectors thought of putting a spinner in the ODI side. about time. Mike Hussey seems to be doing very well at ODI level but is having a tough time in tests. if you look at his last 6 ODIs you will see that he is definately in form.

Re: Australia in South Africa

3 early Aussie wickets lost.

This is how it always has to be done, Australia cannot win without drama :D

Re: Australia in South Africa

Johnson goes for 30 from 62. A good innings. Botha tricked him with a doosra and trapped him LBW. Hauritz in now. 7/103.

Re: Australia in South Africa

South Africa won by seven wickets. If it weren't for Johnson and Ferguson, Australia would have struggled to get past 50.
