Re: Australia in West Indies

Did Jaques get a ton? Wooot. Will be a tough call for the gig when Hayden gets back. I'd tip Jaques to get the spot just because he has been with Hayden for a while now.

Is Hayden not right for the ODIs? If so, Mike Hussey has to open, Katta is sooooooo slow!

Re: Australia in West Indies

Hayden is out for the entire tour. Shane 'The Pig' Watson has been given his spot.

I think Jaquesy will keep his place because the Australian selectors like to have a stable line up, plus all the other stuff he had done in Australia

Re: Australia in West Indies

Looking like an interesting final day. West Indies need around 240 with 7 wickets in hand. Chanderpaul still there.

Re: Australia in West Indies

Has this pitch gotten better as the game has progresses? Both the teams have done better in the second innings.

The West Indies are in a seemingly good position but they have a long tail. Its only a matter of one wicket for Australia.

Re: Australia in West Indies

Yeh it has, apparently. They said on the radio that the pitch won't start cracking until day 10, lol.

Australia might just lose this one but I wouldn't bet on it.

Is Katich even in the ODI squad? Hope not.

Re: Australia in West Indies

Tough call by Punter on Haddin. 5 away from his first 50. He would have really liked to get that monkey off his back. And speaking of monkeys off backs, Casson picked up his first wicket, good on him (and Jaques for that stunning catch), has a big role to play tomorrow.

This game is in the balance. Chanders needs to be removed early (only been out once or twice all series). Hopefully the bowlers can do their job and get the result

Re: Australia in West Indies

tell you what though the Windies have put up much more of a fight than i thought they would in this series. They've lost by 95, drawn and lost this one by 87 - thought they'd be hammered, they're definately better than when they toured England last spring.

Re: Australia in West Indies

I knew they'd fold up once Australia got rid of Chanderpaul. I surely wasn't expecting West Indies to score 387 in the 4th innings.

The debutant did pretty well. Didn't get any in the first innings but got two crucial wickets in the second innings.

West Indies croud, geez they were bad. Throwing rubbish onto the ground because they thought the decision were the ball hit the stumps and then hit Haddin's pads was bad, it went to the replay and guess what??? It really was out.

Ricky Ponting has condemned the crowd behaviour in St Vincent that delayed the end of the opening one-day international by ten minutes. West Indies were nine down when Darren Sammy was correctly given out bowled, but the trouble began after Sammy waited near the boundary while the television umpire reviewed the decision.

There was no big screen at the stadium and when Sammy, who had 33, left the field the crowd threw bottles and rubbish on to the arena. The dismissal was initially unclear but the replays showed the ball had brushed off stump before bouncing off the wicketkeeper Brad Haddin's pads.

During the crowd disturbance the Australians congregated on the pitch and were joined by James Hopes, who had been fielding on the boundary. "There's no room for that in the international game,'' Ricky Ponting told AAP of the incident. "Luckily today they did miss James, otherwise it could have been a bit nasty.''

Took them 10 minutes to clean up all the rubbish, really bad behavior by the crowd, as bad as the Indian crowds at times, and people say Australian crowds are bad, geez, look around.

Annnnnnnnnywaaaaaaaaaayyyy great win by the Aussies. What about Haddins run out? Woot.

Re: Australia in West Indies

Hahaha, told you Jonesy that Shaun Marsh would play for Australia ;)
And what a gun he is.

Poor old Hopesy, he was the one getting stuff thrown at. Shame really, tarnished a superb performance by Marsh.

Oh and Australian crowds are hilarious. If the match gets dull then just watch the crowd, always entertaining!

Re: Australia in West Indies

Good fight shown by the Windies. Australia took the wicket of Chanderpaul at just the right time or the result could have been different.

Re: Australia in West Indies

DAVE HUSSEYYYYYYYY

Second fastest 50 by an Australian, off 19 balls, woot.

And before him, Ronchi was on fireeee. I knew he'd be a really good inclusion to the ODI side, I still think he should be getting a permanent game in the ODIs.

Re: Australia in West Indies

I just managed to watch the closing stages of the Australian innings and it was very entertaining. David Hussey was awesome.
