Australia vs England - The Ashes 2021/22

Game heading towards a draw in my opinion unless something miraculous happens in the next two days. Unfortunately the weather has interfered far too much in this game and we've lost 64 overs (accounting for the 66 minus two overs for change of innings) over the first three days.

The forecast for tomorrow is not good with showers expected and 6-20mm of rain to fall mostly in the afternoon and evening. Sunday is better although still a shower or two and 2-5mm across the morning and early afternoon.

Sydney copped another drenching from our nitely thunderstorms so the outfield will need drying. All I can see on the BOM radar is scattered cloud approaching the Sydney CBD area with nothing of significance then for hundreds of kms. So I am optimistic we will get most of the first two sessions played which should give us time to add another 150 to our score.. I can see some white ball like batting today.

Starting on time. The ground staff must have done a sterling job to dry the outfield.
Lyon bowled some genuine rubbish yesterday so we need him to step up this morning and finish the England innings. Leach gifts him one early. Need Bairstow now so we keep our good lead.

Green and Boland were our two best yesterday. In their short careers both are averaging under @12.

Get Lyon off.. leaking runs again.

Boland does Starc's job of mopping up the innings. Reckon had Hazlewood played on these lively seaming tracks he and Boland would have destroyed the Poms well before this.

I'd say not a road but certainly easier batting conditions than those tracks in the past two matches. Melbourne, specially was very spicey.
They're looking for knicks only.

There is no cracks on the pitch. Hence why the spin is not happening and runs are being leaked.

Confirmation of Hazelwood being out for the rest of the series. Mind you he played in the IPL so there was a lot of bowling there.

..and after coming off a year of white ball cricket, probably the main reason he broke down here because he was not match fit to bowl 25 overs in a day. 😡

Australia 2-66 lunch.. a lead of 188.

From what I can see of the spin play of Labuchagne he may well be a liability in Asia with his lazy footwork. I hope he proves me wrong.

They are going really well right now.

But as what Mark Waugh just said the guys should be playing their shots. They have enough runs in front.
