i know that. The point I was trying to make is that ground such as white flat and alfredton couldn't be in any worse shape than the likes of wendouree and city oval last year. It must be just that they are being repaired at the moment.

but as i said regarding turf wickets, if wendouree and city oval had hard wickets they would have been shut last year, and if white flat and alfredton had turf wickets up and about now they would be open

well if that is the case the BCA obviously puts turf cricket in front of safety. Not the best thing to do.|@

the only reason the city oval and wendouree arent played on at the moment is because of the time it takes to get a turf wicket up, not with the siuation of the outfield.

ballarat cricket will play omn whichever turf ground no matter the outfield, as long as the wicket is ready
No it's not it is because the surface is too hard to play on and with the wendouree ground is still getting fixed up.

Re: Ballarat Cricket Association

After playing last season in the Ballarat comp I couldn't believe the conditions of some grounds and facilities that were approved fit for play. By far the worst out field I'd ever encounted in many years of cricket was the City Oval. Having a look around the grounds recently it appears that they are in much better condition than this time last year. Like Shakes 7 I'd play any day anywhere if I could and with no end in site of the drought it is the sacrifise we'll have to pay to continue to play the game we love.
PS Whats the go with Jones being named for Redan, I read in earlier posts that he was having the year off ?

City oval was tough to play on last year, especially for bowlers with the run ups being hard dust.
Maybe the Jones story was just playing it to the media. Not sure if he will play or not but by the looks of the Combine side they could definately use him against Wendouree

Well apart from the coronet game no one has really dominated anyone else...every team is in with a chance...darleys new captain straight onto the board..its going to be interesting week next week to see who has the abilty to finish....

Re: Ballarat Cricket Association

Would love to know what the scores are from these games.

I would love to know if anyone took any classic catches out there as well.

not sure who is to blame for that. I guess a lot of captains missed the deadline in terms of dropping off the score sheets.

I don't think it was the captains, I got all of our scoresheets in online well before the deadlines and they still didn't go in. I think there's a bit of a stuff up either with cricketstatsonline or the BCA. I certainly hope I don't get fined for it either way.

Mate,

Why be so negative all the time? You post as though you have cracked the ********s over everything that happens.

Not a negative person at all, will gladly comment on some positive stuff when it happens. I think most people will agree that it was a bit disappointing on Monday when reading the paper to find out that it was missing most of the results.

yes was a bit annoying when you wanna find out how your mates went.

so who do people think will be leading run makers and wicket takers for the year?

I'll have a stab at sam miller for runs and lincoln blake for wickets.
