Seriously Pidge, are you here just to try and test the patients of everyone else, or have you escaped from a padded cell? No one in their right mind could possible post the senseless dribble that you do unless they were trying to play some kind of sick joke. If that is the case, then I salute you soldier. Most people would just stop after about 100 or so idiotic posts. But not you, you are like the energizer bunny. You just keep going, and going, and going.

Sadly though I think it is more the latter. You are just not the full two bob.

Good on you Pidge!!!! Fly the flag for us mentally-challenged knuckle-draggers!!!

These guys have a tendency to talk about cricket in the BCA........funnily enough, I reckon I've seen some of these guys play before and I'm sure they know what they're talking about!!!!!

What are you doing on the weekend? Do you want to join me chasing parked cars up at the special school? We can indulge in some fanny rub action whilst discussing the impact of US Sub-prime mortgage crisis on the length of your underarm hair.

Can't wait!!!;)

Hope your big plan doesn't involve sunday cricket! If it does you won't get the best players playing. All weekend cricket isn't enjoyable at this level.

No problem at all but you don't seem to understand.

You'll find the outcome has not been tainted, instead we've had Rule 10.3.1.e) pertaining to the Granting of Clearances explained to us in detail.

As you blokes have pointed out, it reads:

"The player has not played in 6 days per season in each of the three (3) years with the Club from the date he is registered by the Association or cleared from another BCA Club."

Pete has played with us for the past two seasons. The year before he was registered in another association and did not play for Point. Therefore he "has not played in 6 days per season in each of the three (3) years with the Club from the date he is registered by the Association" and will therefore not be cleared.

You probably don't want to use this wording in any appeals tribunal will you?

sorry to rain on your parade steve, but a couple of seasons ago, we lost one of our best juniors to wend. at appeal, we stated the 3 year rule, but in granting the appeal, the appeals board used the 'exceptional clauses' section that is available to them. they stated that 'in the interests of keeping in the game' they were granting the players wish.

so i wouldnt trust the rules or the appeals board as much as we all should|@

So how long do we have to wait to hear this plan SteveO

All the sponsorship is being ironed about by the boys and it should be up and running during this season. We hope.

Sam Sheppard has been the architect and it will be fantastic.

Invitations to clubs will be statewide.

Well you would think that common sense would have to prevail in each circumstance. We cannot have blokes walk away from the game if they cannot play at there club of choice or convenience.

assumption correct. dont tell me you have had run-ins with andy as well. no-ones that silly to sledge andrew with peter bowling at the other end & likely to kill you. sorry for all you kids out there who dont know the leach brothers, but this was when a grade was really a grade & just about every side had someone who could take your head off, not like today, when pie throwers think their quick.......

but i transgress....

Holy jeez and here I was thinking things would be quite on here during the offseason.

Ummmm Leechy and SteveO at least you blokes have a bit of ability but spare a thought for a battler like me. We were that undermanned at naps we didn't select sides - Dougy Butcher used to just sit us down and ask for a show of hands as to who wanted to play A grade. Stupid me put my hand up at the start of the season to open. So on a weekly basis as a 17 year old I'd be facing blokes pushing off the fence as the start of their run up. Jeff Reinets, Neill Lee, Leach boys, Jason Oldaker, Jason Yean, Shane Harwood just to mention a few. But generally apart from the odd occassion at least those blokes were keen to get you out whereas bloody Noddy Gladman just wanted to kill ya. Didn't see the 1st one he bowled to me and Noddy came down to my nose and told me exactly that, spitting on me the whole time he was yelling at me. French cut the 2nd one for 4 and got more quality advice. The third one was at my throat, came off the glove and balooned in the air. I was praying for someone to catch it. Screw you all for judging me..............

Don't think I slept a Friday night all year knowing who I had to face the next day. Actually didn't sleep much at all because at training I'd have to face Sticker with a new pill and back then even Stick didn't really knew where his were going............

quality times............

not sure 17 year olds playing A grade in todays comp have quite the same issues..........

i think the 17yo today have a hell of a lot less to worry about. they are more concerned with having a bit of a chat back instead of knowing their place and where they fit in and showing the players that have earnt the respect the kind of respect they deserve......

I was a mere 14 when I made the A-grade debut and I didnt have to face a ball!!! Walked out to bat at the non-strikers end got called through for a suicide second run and got done by a direct hit from the boundary without facing a ball...diamond duck debut

gotta love those quality debuts as a young fella. and because you'd never faced these bowlers and you were opening you would just tell yourself that they can't be that good - nothing to worry about. then you'd see them mark out their run up, you'd look back and see how far back the keeper and slips were standing and you'd walk up to Johnny Bray at the non strikers end who always refused to face the first ball and say "mate if i get my pad or bat anywhere near this I'm running so you'd better be ready!!!!!!"

was that everyone or just me?
