Re: Ballarat Cricket Association

Just thought i would start an interesting conversation thickedge. I beleive most would like and hate certain opposition players. What about you thickedge? Or have you found peace in the world and hate is not on the radar?

Re: Ballarat Cricket Association

i would say hate is a fairly harsh word, of course there is people that are disliked but i wouldn't exactly use the word hate. Furthermore i'm not exactly going to go and spray people I dislike on a public forum

What is your problem polecat and mike, ive got nothing against u guys sharing your opinion on the kenmac side that played on sunday but y don't u leave the personal attacks out of it.
I along with the other 2 u21 boys who played in that side are aware that we were lucky to b there because of the game being played in bendigo. i probably didn't deserve to be there and may not ever b there again but it was a great experience which i enjoyed allot and will no doubt improve my cricket for years to come. calling me along with the other 2 boys a 'disgrace' along with other names just shows how weak u both r. im tippin uv never even watched us play and your only goin off a few stats that uv seen

Good on ya Draff, didn't see the scores, hope they gave you a trundle, you definitely should be getting used.

What's the go with Twenty 20 twice in a week, we've still got a 2 Dayer to finish and we're doing no training ???

As for the Kenmac, where was my invite ? I would have thought me be a good road trip player...especially in Feb

Don't think the BCA anticipated 12 teams entering which is fair enough as we've had fark all in previous years. Those extra teams have meant an extra game in the middle needed to sort us all out. Typical BCA not thinking forward and giving us enough time on the off chance this might happen. I know one S. Skontra will not be pleased with the majority of his team not doing any real training this week. Bloody good fun though!!

Ohhhhh piss off. let's get fair dinkum here. there should be no north player in any bca combined side at the moment. they are not far in front of coronet at the moment but at least those clowns have burns despite the fact they will be in division one next year. what will it be after this round? 12 games in a row without a win? or is it more? trower may take a while to get used to decks like the carpet on sebas no. 2 or the east high road, will he? come on! and if winnard hasn't put it together on the park yet then why is he being picked in a kenmac side?
Whilst the side's results in the last 1½ years have been terrible by anyone's standards, it is unfair to judge Trower and Winnard on a season they didn't even play!

Also just because the team hasn't won a game, doesn't mean that individuals can't perform.

not judging them on last season as north were woeful without them. i'm saying this year those blokes have been ordinary and north are still pitiful. and generally for you roosters, yourself excluded, no individuals have performed. heil mike!

in regard to players being liked and not liked, in the lower grades (3rds) where i usually knock around, its a bit hard to 'hate' (i dont like using that word unless its necessary) players cause its usually a bit more relaxed.

HOWEVER.... there are always some exceptions to the rule. i know cameron haines from mt clear is severly disliked by most players who play against him. i know mumpy wallace is a massive fan of his.

Yep, the mans a turd but a stallion in the sack evidently.......;)

Re: Ballarat Cricket Association

As my name suggests I play in the lower grades and have done so for a few years. Any thoughts on the standard of cricket down there? To be honest I reckon they have dropped around 30% in the past say 4-5 seasons. Perhaps its a bit of a slump so to speak but its a concern becuase if the lower grades are weaker you would expect the higher grades to have dropped off too......

Re: Ballarat Cricket Association

20/20 Round 2 results

Mt. Clear 10/194 Defeated Ballarat-Redan 8/156
Wendouree ?/184 Defeated Bown Hill ?/118
East Defeated Naps by "about 40, 190 odd to 150 odd."

It all comes down to how the BCA work out the best loser scenario.

On a heavier note, Captain Ash George will miss at least one match, being reported for collecting a stump with the bat on his way off the field. Not sure what he was thinking.

At last, somebody else who doesnt play in the a grade (no offence fellas). hopefully there are some more "larrys" out there. Has the standard dropped larry? i think it has. the step up from 3rds to 2nds is bigger now than what it was 3 yrs ago. i know i get more nervous when im "promoted" up there.

that said, i still believe that the quality of cricket in the a grade is still of a very high standard.

re: ash george. i saw it and all i can put it down to was a bit of a brain fart. it came out of nowhere from what i can gather.

Wouldnt be the first time this morons brain has suffered from flatulence would it? There's white line fever and then there's 20/20 on a thursday night.... Mentality of a spud. Good on him though, makes his club work to put a positive spin on this! Bit like aiming to restrict a side to 300.... I'm supporting a bloodbath saturday, cant stand either of them.

been playing 3rds a few years now and the standard of the batting has definitely fallen away - myself included. would love to be a half decent bowler at 3rds level. easy wickets galore. Been fortunate enough to have played in finals the last few years and the standard of the finals is generally pretty high but not too often sides last 80 overs during the home and away season.

hard to always get settled sides down the grades which might be an explanation I spose

Re: Ballarat Cricket Association

Central Highlands Region 3 Twenty/20 Cup – Ballarat Semi Finals
One evening matches on Tuesday 9/12/08 (back up Wednesday 10/12/08) – 5.30 pm start
10. Wendouree v Mt. Clear at Wendouree (2) (Gary Lofts, Peter Mackay)
11. Napoleons/Sebastopol v East Ballarat at Sebastopol (2) (Murray Bayly, Aaron Fowkes)

=================================================================
WENDOUREE 7 cc 187 (Gavin Webb 58, Heath Pyke 33, Matthew Skinner 32)
Defeated
Brown Hill 118 (Jason Knowles 32, Matthew Smith 5-15)
MT. CLEAR 193 (Darren Fletcher 61, Steven Nicholson 49, Matthew Ward 33, Cam Landry 4-50, Leigh Cassidy 3-37)
Defeated
Ballarat/Redan 9 cc 156 (Ben Lillingston 48, Steve Nicholson 4-22, Ashley George 4-25)

EAST BALLARAT 4 - 206 (Nathan Yates 122, Daniel Wright 32)
Defeated
Napoleons/Sebastopol 8 cc 166 (Peter Guy 39, David Sproules 35)

Can someone please explain to me how the fluck Naps can get through on the best loser scenario here? Any which way you look at it to work out a percentage taking 10 wickets apposed to 4 and making 80.82% of the target runs apposed to 80.58% surely would suggest that we have been the "Best" loser? First round score can't be counted so I'm going out there and saying that this is flucked!! For the record this is a shot at the BCA not the teams involved.

Does seem strange. Obviously counted the previous rounds match where Naps dominated.

I know I'm harping on about something that most people won't give two polly waffles about but in fairness to everyone that should have been stated from the start. Brown Hill chased down Points' 141 in 13 overs round 1 and stopped the game when they passed them. If they continued on and made lets say 230 then they may have been a chance to scrape through on that logic? Ah well, fluck it, it's done now. Move on Waka.........

Only issue will be Potsy's friggin leggies
