Bangladesh in South Africa

Re: Bangladesh in South Africa

All over, Zondeki grabs his second wicket as Alam edges straight through to Boucher.

Bangladesh are all out for 131 and South Africa win by an innings and 48 runs. Just have to wait for the Presentations now.

Re: Bangladesh in South Africa

Presentations now, Cricinfo have been pretty scathing of the Tigers in the post-game analysis, I'll post it here,

Well, what an abject performance. That was utterly spineless, and that would be the case if was anyone and not just Bangladesh. While they resumed with a large first-innings deficit and almost certain defeat in prospect, they had a chance to bat for a long time and gain from experience. Instead several batsmen who should know better played - and ran - as if they couldn't wait to get out of there. That was intensely disappointing and unless there is a complete change in approach it is hard to see how Bangladesh will improve. What makes it all the more disappointing is that they had performed well on the first two days.

Anyway, the game's over and Ashwell Prince is named Man of the Match for his oustanding century. He also collects the Man of the Series award after making 228 runs without being dismissed.

That's the end of the series. South Africa completely dominated everything, winning the Twenty20 game, both ODI's and both tests, just complete control over the entire tour. South Africa now have a small window of domestic cricket before heading over to Australia to play 3 tests and 5 ODI's. The first test between the two countries starts on December 16th in my hometown, Perth. bangladesh now head home to host Sri Lanka in shortish tour which includes two tests and a mini tri-series which includes Zimbabwe. That will take place in the new year.

Plenty more cricket to come!!

Re: Bangladesh in South Africa

3 run outs in a test innings is pathetic.

Apart from Shakib there isn't enough improvement coming from the Bangladesh players. Hopefully they can challenge Sri Lanka and comprehensively beat Zimbabwe.
