Battrick - Season 11 Chat

Re: Battrick - Season 11 Chat

I would use Vernon Rowland as your keeper/batsman since fielding helps keeping the slightest little bit.

Ill askyou like i asked sundires and breeno both who havent answered me =O

Have you read the rules?

Re: Battrick - Season 11 Chat

You asked me that? And I looked over them, didn't go in depth though, I read the methods you posted earlier though.

I had a mentor who explain a lot to me.

They assigned one to me.

Just a question.

This is my best lineup, with their ages in brackets.

1. Charvet-Jones (17)
2. Brook*+ (30)
3. Haldane (30)
4. Hyman (17)
5. Wooton (17)
6. Spiller (21)
7. Carr (17)
8. Cadle (30)
9. Den Brink (17)
10. Juries (17)
11. Roscoe (17)

The top 7 are all pure bats and the last 4 are all bowlers.

When I do my next youth pull or buy a player;

A) With the youth pull should I be going for a batsman/bowler/all rounder, how should I assign the 32 points?

B) If I buy a player, should it be an batsman, bowler or All rounder?

Re: Battrick - Season 11 Chat

Well im not to sure about an all rounder at this stage of the game i dont have one yet I dont think it's too necessary but I dunno.PLus if you do youth pullits really hard to get an all-rounder because of the spread ITS and if you wanted to train an all-rounder you would need probably 6+nets.

Now if you have played any games then go back and look.Is it your bowling or batting that your struggling with mailny. If your giving easy runs or finding it hard to bowl teams out then try buy a decent bowler or if your batting isnt too good try buy a decent batter. (I just pointed out the obvious =O)

How good the palyer will be depends on your finances. And also if your looknig for someone that will be with the team for a decent amount of seasons then I would aim to buy someone no older than 26-27.

With the youth pull it's really up to you but with the ITS designation put :

12 on the main stat
12 on the secondary
and the rest on stamina.

Well that's what I would do others might do it differently but if you put 12 points on a stat you will NEVER get less than mediocre in the stat.

I have no idea if this block of text will do you any good =O

Re: Battrick - Season 11 Chat

I got pretty lucky lol but then again its a pretty weak team :D

For an all rounder go:

12 on Bowling
12 on Batting
8 on Stamina

You'll have to play the game of luck with secondary skills. Then again, they do train quicker with age so you can still end up with a decent 22 year old with the right training.

All others go:

12 on Primary
12 on Secondary
8 on Stamina

I reckon you need a bowler.

Re: Battrick - Season 11 Chat

The key to the youth academy is to stick to your guns until you get what you want. If you want a bat then keep on sticking the ITS on batting until you get a high respectable/low Prof.

Re: Battrick - Season 11 Chat

I can't afford 20 K a week though..

I've also read a few places that say the youth academy isn't worth it. But I know it's a matter of opinion.

Re: Battrick - Season 11 Chat

If you have just started pretend the academy doesnt exist or invest 2-10k a week and slowly build up those ITS.

Re: Battrick - Season 11 Chat

If you have less than 1.6 million in the bank, then I'd recommend saying clear of the youth academy. Once you have the 1.6 then you can probably afford to invest.

On the other hand, it is a gamble and you may well be better off saying up your £20k per week in order to buy a player that someone else has pulled, thus reducing the risk.

It's not just the investment in ITS that kills you but also having to repair the academy up to a usable standard. Although, once you get it to superb it's generally on a £30k per season investment.

Re: Battrick - Season 11 Chat

It's the figure most people throw about when advising, as it's the earliest opportunity to earn the maximum amount of interest per week.

Personally, I'd rather go for the £2million as it only needs 6 financial assistants to earn max interest and therefore more overall profit for you.

Got this from one of those articles you gave us Edge.

I started with 75K

It's from an old article - the amounts have changed but the general advice is still valid.

They changed the starting amount for new players. Instead of a one off lump sum, you get £75k and then a number of weekly payments. Changed in order to level the playing field slightly.

What staff do you have? At the moment you only really need the bare minimum to get you through to the end of the season. I'd rather stockpile cash for 4 weeks or so than bother training players etc.

Do my finances look alright, in your opinion, after the first week? Haven't spent too much?
