Re: Castlemaine and District Cricket Association

Are any of you blokes aware of a bloke called Sam Noble from up your way? He was originally from Melbourne.

He is playing at Castlemaine United. Very aggressive and outspoken player when he steps onto the field.

Never heard of him sorry, must have only played in the last couple of seasons.

Gordon I have seen you asking on another thread about Country Week. Castlemaine already enter a team. If you dont think it is a good enough team thats goes then pick a rep side that should be the best 12.

I'm actually asking for the comp I play in now. The Castlemaine team is never the best 12 because it all depends on who has time off from work and in the past a lot of blokes haven't played because of differences with CDCA admin.

Good topic for conversation though regarding the best 12. I'll have a think about that.

Well the league has made the final in the past 5-6 years so I would of thought the team must be as close to the best as possible. Having watched some of the final last year fielding was the thing that let the side down. Lots of catches were dropped. This comes down to the fact the league does not play enough one day cricket, although I see in the draw there is a few this season.

Jamie Allan, Steve Becker, Clint Aldridge would be near the top three players in the league.

I suppose every team is in the same boat when it comes to players being unavailable due to work.

I agree there should be more one day cricket, but it should be play every team twice in the season, once one day, once two. If that means less teams in A grade so be it.

Agree with the first two names, don't really know the third. Couple of the Newstead boys in Pedretti and Christmas would be up there.

Ok so we have worked out you are from Newstead...

Yeah Muckleford should be kicked out of A grade. Then 8 teams can play a full round of one dayers and two dayers...

Clint is the captain of Castlemaine, an opening swing bowler and aggressive middle order bat.

Don't rate the Newstead boys?

Looking at the weekend results you would say Malmsbury are the team that doesn't belong.

He must have only played the last couple of years, but his figures from Saturday are pretty handy.

They are very handy, just you mentioned them so thought you must be from there...

Clint is very handy player.

Malmsbury dont belong your right but neither do Muckleford. Taradale are better than they are.

Be interesting to see what the Muckleford/Taradale record is in the last few seasons.

I guess it is hard when teams have 2nds already because it would be a little unfair to have two sides in one grade.

Maybe the easiest solution would be to kick Campbells Creek out after all the whinging they have done. ;)

That is a very relevant point. Sick of the whinging we have heard from Campbells Creek. If they think they are so good go and test yourself in the Maryborough comp. Interesting to hear why they cleared BJ when he apparently owes them $1000. One day cricket is overated and should be a seperate comp.
Great to see C/Creek get beat Saturday. Magnificent result. As for the best player in the comp. Well he is in A res this year south of Castlemaine. Easily the best cricketer

Yeah that is a fair call.

Massive whisper getting around that Sam Noble is moving on to greener pastures as of November. Big loss for the Maine boys with their bowling already reliant Aldridge, Fraser and the big key Lenny Watson.

Owes them $1000? I thought they were paying him?

Might be a bit of both I think. interesting results from saturday. We had a disappointing day with the bat but we think we have enough against a ordinary C/Creek Side. They might make the finals but the air of invincability is certainly going. Interesting to see young Brindley play. Didnt help them much against a unusual looking B/Creek side. Dave Semmens can bowl??? And Kyneton were true to my word when they capitulated against Guildford. Guildford are a team to be very wary of as they are putting some names together. Kyneton on the other hand are a lesser of version of Guildford form past years, when they are hot they are hot, when they aren't they may as well be back in A Res

Guildford and Barkers already won their games will be important that you do have a win.

Gordon??? Thought of that best 11 in the league yet???

Re: Castlemaine and District Cricket Association

north castlemaine need to have a bit of respect.if you dont respect your opposition you will not win games not even against the cash weilding colts from down yapeen way..bring back the salary cap to even up the comp

The only reason your talking about reaspect is because you got jamie allen out while he tried to slap you and you gave him the big send off ... but when you have won over 10 b&f and 5 batting averages you dont need to give anyone reaspect escially someone who was a former red hat!!:p
