Could someone from Riverside please let us know if the Strangler has had his computer stolen, I have an old Com 64 at home for him if he needs it.

I know that Milkbar Boy, Riversider, Isotopes and a lot of the god botherers are all avid readers of my posts, maybe they can advise.

Love ya work Bull, but don't be surprised if they 'suddenly' appear if you guys don't get 140 this week......wouldn't surprise ya would it mate.

If you lead with your chin you've got to expect to wear a few, fair to say I've worn a few. As our boys have said, we dont get 140 we dont deserve to be in Barclay, that simple.

That does sound like a Riverside thing to do!

Does anyone have info about what happened in the Vets semi-final b/w Lower Eltham and Riverside, word is that the Riverside square leg umpire gave a decision that was controversial late in the game and there were a few issues with this. My source noted that "Stevie Wonder" could have given it out (I presume a run-out decision) and that the main umpire just shook his head in disgust. I know this is nothing knew from the Siders but would be interested to hear from someone that was at the ground.
 
Heard that Peter Candy gave the Riverside boys a fairly big spray over it! They certainly play for sheep stations at Riverside. I think there win at all cost mentallity at vets level is a fair bit ordinary and against the spirit of what the Vets comp was and should be about!
 
I tend to agree Brutal, without knowing much about the situation, Riverside for years have taken the Vets too seriously which is pretty ridiculous considering it is played every 2nd week and most of the blokes only play to get out of the house and have a beer on a Sunday evening.
 
Absoluteglam’s pre-finals wrap
Plenty
Still flag favorites, but only just, after a relatively uneventful post Xmas period. Still have class but rely heavily on the veterans in Pavey and Lovey. Bowling is unmatched and if they perform at their best will be difficult to beat.
One to watch: As always, Nick Curtain is the wildcard, an unbelievably talented player who is a proven big game performer.
Riverside
Have much to prove and will know that the regular season games don’t mean all that much anymore. Not relying as heavily on Gibbs as previous years, but if he doesn’t fire they can’t win a final.
One to watch: The Pig coming back from injury could have an influence.
Lower Eltham
The definite wildcard in the draw. Batting is super strong without having hit their straps much this season. Whitcher, Still(s), Curtis, Poyser, Tucker, Short can do much damage, and the longer format may suit with a couple of handy tweakers. *Whitcher not included
One to watch: Whitcher has had a lean season for his standards and if he hits form at the business end, look out!
Camrea
Still need to keep winning to make the four, and let themselves down on the weekend. Have a reasonably solid team with Bubis and Berak, plus McGann with the ball.
One to watch: McGann is a Baker type, could carry an ordinary team to a flag.
Lalor
The cowboys are always dangerous, and while they didn’t help themselves on the weekend, Volpe and the boys could do anything come the finals.
One to watch: Kemp – a big game performer.
 
A good day had by all down at the nest to celebrate pink stumps day. The strangler put in another strong performance in the field with no wickets , and pretty sure he put one down in the gully. Would anyone know why Gibbs wouldn't bowl until after the game was lost ? Unusual decision.
 
i thnk that camrea have slipped under the guard of many teams....as they come from west of plenty road.....god forbid they be competive against the might east of plenty road.

scott gibbs may have been a captain of many DVCA teams, and this isn't taking the pi..ing but has riverside won a flag and how long has he been there?

It is a pretty decent effort after dominating Jika for many years and deciding to make the move to the DVCA. This is Camrea's second year in DVCA and it has backed its Money Shield Grand Final win with a final four finish in Barclay Shield.
The Barclay Shield is pretty open this year as the results on the weekend suggest.

Camerea havent slipped under anyones guard. Word going round is thier skipper had a melt down before christmas and just walked off the groung half way through an innings. Also they have no depth, there 2nds can barley hold a bat.

As for Gibbsy, he is welcome at Bundoora any day. Riversides problem is that most of them dont have any ticker

Commiserations to Eltham, allways been a good bunch of blokes, club with a proud history, and the best ground in the comp. Our boys got a real fright this season, seven months now to get our act together.

20 different players have reprensented the club at Burland Shield level.
