Re: DVCA: Barclay Shield

FOR WHAT ITS WORTH

Mernda v Lower Plenty - If Bakes gets the key wicket then Mernda, if Bergs gets 35 he'll add a 100 to it and Lower.

Epping v Riverside - Toss a coin, go with Riverside, the difference bewteen their best and worse is not as great as Epping.

Lalor Stars v Bundoora - I saw a couple of Stars games last year, they arent far away from the finals. The import from Bundoora smashed the Stars attack last year, got a ton. Bundoora just in this one.

Eltham v Research - The one thing you can rely on at Eltham is they have a go, the same cant always be said for Research, even their resident radio start shakes his head about their efforts. A lot of talk about skips and stuie, they have a great spirit. Eltham for their first win in 08/9.

Macleod v Plenty - A real test for Macloed, good start in round one. Plenty havent lived up to their hype, particulalry after the dribble the PremiersAgain carries on with, total tool. Macleod to beat Plenty who are struggling to implement their youth policy.

Lower Eltham v Diamond Creek - Lower looking good, Daimo also. Less that 2 wickets / 25 runs either way.

Re: DVCA: Barclay Shield

Lol as if JBs Shadow and Tongs aren't the same person! I know its you Quinny...

Very good weekend of cricket to look forward to!

Mernda v Lower Plenty - Lower Plenty for mine, wouldn't be surprised if its a close one at all tho!

Epping v Riverside - Epping to bounce back after last weeks upset.

Lalor Stars v Bundoora - Bundoora, wonder if the new bloke can back up his 8/28!

Eltham v Research - Eltham for mine, lots of spirit about them, apparently been reasonable without winning. Skips due.

Macleod v Plenty - If Macleod can bowl well they are a huge chance, and I think they'll win.

Lower Eltham v Diamond Creek - Lower in a run fest!

remember that game sonny smashed us hit the ball in the middle all day and he was not the import , he actually goes to uni and walked off the street for a game .some teams must be blessed all we get is blokes walking off the street looking for a beer :D:D

Re: DVCA: Barclay Shield

Speaking of last year anyone know if the scorecards from the last few years will be moved onto the new results site? or if there's anywhere you can find them?

I've asked a couple of blokes running the show what the deal is with that and I got the same answer from both - "yes the scores will be up, but we can't tell you when, we're working with the mob that was running it before we switched back to resultsvault, blah blah blah"

Hopefully it works better than when they switched last time and we actually do get the stats across.

I did hear it was supposed to early October, but seeing as though that's come and gone, who knows.

Re: DVCA: Barclay Shield

The thing you need to realise with clubs like Plenty and Diamond Creek is that they produce good juniors that go on to be good district cricketers. Majority of the comps better juniors thats go on to be good district players come out of these two teams hence there inability to hold onto and develop youth in there seniors. Epping, Lower Eltham, Lower Plenty and the likes may have good senior players such as Tophman and Whitcher and Zerefa but really they are big fish in a small pond (as someone put it to me the other day). I think people need to look a little deeper and will realise that Plenty and Diamond Creek are doing great things but dont really get noticed.

Wasn't a dig at Bundoora re Imports, honest mistake. I actually have a lot of respect for them, they've always been a good club but got a wake up call a few years ago, they've really bounced back. I'll watch this weeks results with interest.

Didnt whitcher have a run at a district club? From memory he was a DV junior and has been in the best 11 in the DV most years. Probably not a good example.

I reckon that just about every DV Barclay club would have had one of their kids run around in the district 1's or 2's in the past decade, with others trying out. I admire Creek and Plenty, but I dont think they are anymore special than most of the Barclay clubs.

nah i just want to know where this bloke is getting all his info from. What can i say we have started shithouse and my predictions were way off at this point in time however what i will say is that there is a massive change of the guard at plenty with a really good group of under 21s. For a start we have 3 blokes 18 and under playing in the 1's atm.

Now i still honestly believe with the class we have in the 1st right now we will still be aiming to win the flag. Lovie, Hubbs, Rossy, Johono, Malf, Sconna and Gordy Zull would walk into any other team in the Dvca.

Does it really matter where I am from, I could be from Barclay or Money, I could be in the ones or fifths, I may not even play, hell I could be an umpire, I could even play at your club, you never know. But maybe I'm like a few people that have taken the piss out of you because you have carried on with crap over the last couple of seasons. Looks like you are rattled!;);)

Who are the district cricketers from Plenty and Creek at the moment? I can think of a couple, but I can think of a couple from other clubs as well that would be handy additions into their clubs as well.

Re: DVCA: Barclay Shield

Mernda are no chance this week! Baker is not playing, as he is "going fishing" WTF??? That gives them no chance this week!

hope he is lost at sea for 3 weeks ( & then found safely of course ) we play them rd 4.

Re: DVCA: Barclay Shield

Lalor Stars v Bundoora: Bundoora's batting is lacking and Keays should rip through them, I definitely agree with the low scoring thought on this match. Will Adams play? How will Mann bowl and how good is he? Stars too strong for mine here.

Stu & Jason Nicholas - IN

Gibbo & Jude Carland - OUT

stu might have to bowl into the wind though:D

Batting will be a bit skinny with both Gibbo and Jude out.

i just think its weak as piss with you potting us when your hiding behind your screen. let me know some facts about your club and we can compare.

I still think people like trying to get into Plenty because of how successfull we are and how dangerous we will always be. Especially muppets like you!
