Maybe I was getting little carried away. Nice to see the young bloke (midwicket) come in over the top.

See you on the golf day bear.

Funny - think we still have some more in the fridge at the club too.
Shocking !!! Can't give them away.

I will try to calmy respond to you remarks and accusations. I have already responded to most of these comments you made on the Barclay Shield forum, but since you have lowered yourself down to the C grade forum then I will re-answer here.
My harsh responses might be because you keep on raising the same topic again and again - have you run out of ideas?

The President is appointed - by the members - to RUN the club. I am not sure how it is done at Lower but nearly all decisions at Bundoora are made in consultation with the general committee or at worst the executive committee. I make a point of ensuring everyone is filled in on what is going on and we vote accordingly. I do not make too many decisions without prior consultation unless the situation & urgency requires it.
Quite frankly I do not care what you think of how we run the club at Bundoora as it is the club members who matter.
If the members are not happy then they will tell me so. Not sure they will vote me out coz' no one else wants to do the work involved, but they will vote with their feet by stop turning up to functions, stop playing or stop coming to the club.
In all areas our numbers are up on previous years so if there is an underlying problem with the way I am running the club then it is not coming through from this end.
Sure there might be a few people not happy. You can never keep everyone happy and if i have only upset 2-3 out of a club with over 150 members then I am pretty happy with that. (maybe i am not trying hard enough)

If you know something and wish to share - but not publicly, then pls message me directly as you have done before.

As for Grant Thomas - last time I looked I was not the coach. I have not ever had any input into team selections. If you ask Brad, I am not even allowed into the meeting room when teams are discussed :)
As for recruits - Brad and the majority of senior players were all consulted on our potential recruits this season. We actually has trouble getting Dinesh back this year and it was the players who pushed the issue to get him. I am sure Lower would love him in their attack.

I drew the racist comments from the fact that you continually go on and on and on about the fact we have 'imports' playing for us. If you werent racist then you wouldn't comment as they would be just seen as another player.
What is the difference between paying someone from District level to play compared to a guy from Sri Lanka, Pakistan or even from a local area ?

If you are recruiting players from outside the club to come and play in your ones, you are doing it for the betterment and success of the side, and regardless of where they come from, they will hold back a local kid - just as you believe our 'imports' do.

If your club is fortunate enough to be able to grow and recruit from within then fantastic for you. There are a few clubs with strong growth areas such as Creek, Research, NEW etc... that can do this. Others are not so fortunate demographically so need to resort to other means.

Finally if you think i am holding someone back, then again i would like to think you are mistaken with your information. I would like to think I have earned and held my spot on performances (although my batting form sucks recently).

We have made an informal policy of having 4-5 senior heads (picked on performance) in each grade below A grade, and the balance made up of kids (also on performance).
For most of the year our B grade has had 4 blokes 30+ and 7 under 21, with 4 under 16.
You will find this ratio fairly common through the grades at the club.
There are a lot of clubs we have played this year with very similar ratios.

I think it is the right way to go.
No good playing all kids if (i) they are not yet ready or (ii) Play with no senior leadership around them.
B grade cricket is still a fairly good standard and is a significant jump up from C grade and in particular the junior comp.
So as for holding someone back - a kid no, another older senior - maybe.

As for Bundoora 'Know-alls' yes some of the kids comments are a little over the top sometimes ( 'orgasmic' - beamer please !!) but they are kids and this is a fun environment to make comments. It shouldnt be used to abuse or continually criticise players or clubs as some appear to do.

If you have a personal issue with me or the Bundoora Cricket club then please feel free to come over and discuss, but I am sure everyone, as i am, will be getting sick of seeing your continual borish comments about me and the club on this site.

Anyway - Good luck to Lower for the rest of the year. Gonna be a tight finish in the 1's and 2's for top 4 spots.

Prez Out!

dont worry georgie, bundoora is in good stead. 5 senior teams and 5 juniors that aint bad at all. and there aint nothing wrong with the word orgasmic, its just a joke really.

if your referring to Dave Quinlan, i'm tipping he gets reported for sledging, even with no umpire!!!
he has 7 games of anger built up to use in one afternoon, i'd be advising the opposition to wear ear muffs:p

You mention another_ton is from Lower......which Lower (Eltham or Plenty)?? Dunno if I know him.

PREZ, you may know that I have stood by any critism of Bundoora for any imports, my belief is quite open I have no problem and if run well are for the betterment of the club and possibly the comp.

But what goes around comes around in my opinion, the biggest club to kick up a stink (read sook like hell) about a player (maybe imported) Lower Eltham had in the seasons 95/96/97/98 (and assisted in them beating Bundoora in a flag duing those years) WAS Bundoora, mate the cries of foul were unbelievable. No I do not bring this up to start a debate, just remember all Bundoora folk, your club actually started the outrage over 10 years ago.

Mate all the best, as I have mentioned in earlier posts I am on your side with imports and have played against yours and they are nice, likeable and seem very club orientated men and look only to assist your club in the future.

Cheers

CC,

Funny twist your info has.

I am not aware of what happened back in the 90's. I was at Bundoora then but do not recall an issue. I do know that if we lost a flag then we would have been filthy.
Maybe selective memory loss. Perhaps because LECC might have been the pioneers into the import saga. Really do not recall.

Yes Another-Ton is from your club LECC.

It is funny that the biggest critic on this site about the imported players, comes from the club that started in all back in the 90's. All credibility lost now.

You need to have credibility in the first place to lose it...

Prez, you seem to have misinterpreted my post a little, I was actually and still am on your side in regards to imports and the way your club and others have used them and am fully supportive of them to the comp (actually would have liked to see a few playing tommorrow for the DVCA). What I was saying that we where abused and ridaculed for having an import years ago and instead of sooking up in public we laughed at all cries of foul and continued to just play cricket and run our club in our clubs own interests, not that of others that thought what we where doing was wrong.

If you have critics then let them be, you and a few other Bundy boys get on here and really get your nickers in a knot about any criticism about your club, I agree stick up for yourselfs but you lose credibility when you continue to bag others for having an opinion that differs from yours. If another_ton is from LECC fine, I personnaly do not know him and his opinion is his and I respect that.

The topic of imports is never going to go away, actually playing the Stars on Sat the rumours of what they have and what they may possibly get will rock the valley next year. There will be critics of them (as there was of us, Research a few years back and many others that have done it) and I am sure they will not care, as long as they are winning. I just hope the topic does not start to get personnel and we all just get over it.

That is a junk post. It's a senior thread for senior players. If you are playing senior cricket expect to be treated like one.

'it's quite Orgasmic.' - honestly mate, what the **** ?

FURGY

pm fmr_13 if you have issues like that with him, WARNING only mate (and I know you expected it)

And you must have heaps with quick jibes like that

Pull up mate, the bloke goes on and on and on about how against imports he is only to be found out as being someone from one of the very first clubs to import players to the DVCA.

Please correct me if I'm wrong - but I thought it was the moderators job to keep people talking cricket, not to jump in with little snide remarks to someone who's just had a dig at another poster.

Who's moderating the moderators?

Nice sook champ, yes that is my job but its not an actual job I only took this on so the DVCA could have its own area, if its alright for you to do it (and I didn't delete it) then why is it not alright for me, if you have a problem use the report function and the Admin dept will sort out. I actually have a life and will not miss getting on here having to moderate peoples issues everyday, organinsing betteing and thread to initiate posting and good conversation, whilst I don't actually miond I do have a life and will get by. I only wanted a better area for us and reckon we have it at the moment. Have a look around BIGCRICKET and see other comps they have crap areas as they have noone that has stood up to take control.

You probably have no idea when imports actually started in the DVCA, to state that Lower Eltham started it is very niave. What is an import anyway, are they from overseas or other clubs/associations. Lower Eltham has NEVER has someone form overseas, whilst one originated from overseas (born there) he was recruited from inside this state.

Get your facts right turbo before you slag off when you are just trying to back up a mates post.

Very rich coming from you, considering you're doing the same thing.

The only differnce being I've got no idea who Prez is, where as another_ton plays at your own club.

As for the moderators thing, you've taken that way out of proprotion, BUT when you volunteered to moderate I'd have thought you gave up your right to set a bad example for the area you're looking after.

All I ws trying to say was that as a moderator it should be you who posts telling people to get back onto cricket, not jump on and fuel fires.

As for the part about not deleting my post - Why would it need to be deleted, no swearing, no name calling, no racism, no reason for deletion..?

Re: DVCA - C grade and below

OK mate fine lets get back to cricket and hope that any posts that mention imports stay the hell away as they are problamatic and get no where. If I end up finding out who he is I will be having a word to calm him down about the subject as well

Lets move on guys, this is a C grade and below forum lets get back to that as I am sure there are some good games doming up to finals.

Looking at C Grade Diamo and Bundy in round 11 should be a cracker as they look to be the only teams in it.
