from what iv'e played on plentys new pitch is the worst in the comp.
half trackers can roll and a good length ball will bounce over my head (im not the tallest character by all means) id rather synthetic anyday.

mate! i was loving plentys wicket before i was withdrawn from the attack on the weekend. no batsman seemed to be complaining, especially I.Henning who gave our bowlers a walloping. luckily my right arm was nowhere to be seen.
will report after saturday's innings.

Re: DVCA Juniors

Umm as for sledging in junior cricket im not too sure, abba was always a big mouth even wen i played with the lad!! haha hes good value that boy.
when i was playing luke course from search would give you a gob full.
Jack young and ondarchie from n.e.w used to give me plenty as well as i was a small batsman who bowled tidy off spinners at best-easy target lads.
Youngy shut up after i flogged him around in the granny though!! haha now we are mates which is good.
but nah these days no idea but jared lutter in my side was deffs one of the worst with no suttlty whatsoever which was always a great laugh!!!
sledging these days is pretty common though but i am sick of being called a f&*$#86 s(*^(* C(*^(^ by kids who cannot play the game.
Talk is cheap especially on the cricket field, actions speak louder than words so its best to keep your mouth shut and give the bowlers a flogging and get 5 wickets with the ball and go about ur business quietly

good sledgers seem to evade my mind!
but there are some which think they are,
yet they are laughable.

some of the clubs which lie in growth corridors need to reinvigorate the development programs, and follow something like the DC model for example.

a strong platform encouraging younger players to begin in modified or development, and ease them through so they have a solid 2/3 years of cricket behind them before playing 12 1's. then the step up to 14's the coaching becomes more personal and incentives like shaun brown 'scholarships' are offered as incentive to perform for a season. also with good people in charge of the club, people who have a certain love for the club helps as well .
having grown up around the club, it is evident that these people really do help.

so clubs like south morang, yarrambat and mernda as much as i hate to say, with a little bit of work starting now. could become powerhouses in the future.
forget your riversides and plentys.
not the creek though , they will be good forever yep yep :) ;)

Good post.

With good admin and organisation (yes exactly like Creek) you are right some of those clubs could be anything in a few years.

Sadly though it takes volunteers and if they do not get them ... who knows

Re: DVCA Juniors

rhys mate you are talking jargon!
you love the sledge, and you go about your business as loud as anyone.
:p

as for jared lutter well, he is about as subtle as a brick to the face. pretty sure strangwick almost punched him out on the weekend lmao.

also i hear love from plenty and tassone from diamond creek had a war of words late in the day in the shield game.
anyone know anything ?

most clubs lack a marlwood ryder hahaha!
from the amount of cricket work i witness that that man does, you would think he was running 28 cricket clubs.

but yes, good volunteers are hard to come by, so when you get one hold onto them.

mate these days just very quiet and do my business thats all, i was never a sledger last yr!!
jazzy hahaha strangas is like 50 years old i wouldnt take crap from a 16 yr old either!!
yeah plenty are dogs. one of their blokes called me a useless c*** when i was 14 playing 3rds at creek!!
also to add to that i was facing daniel compton who now plays 1s at lower and he was calling me a ************** c*** as well. i dont blame him!! i wouldve looked like a ************** as a tiny 14 yr old facing a future a grade opening bowler!!!
x

Re: DVCA Juniors

i wouldve called you that as well. you wouldve been putting him to all sectors of the ground and he would not have been happy.

and yes that strangwick was quite aggrovated.

i read somewhere that compton doesnt figure in the top 60 in shield. probably in the best 11 thread. have a read.

its 20 past 11, god we are losers :p

You are correct, I have had dealing with your old man and have no doubt the work he does has made Creek juniors, DVCA juniors and I suspect DVCA as a whole better.

I reckon if he has the time (and I do not know how he does) he should be looking at taking over the DVCA as either Pres or Admin very very soon. The comp will be better for it.

Pal that is possibly the worst call I have ever seen. When a bloke (or possibly your a female, or at least play cricket like one) starts bringing the mum jokes in then you know you have got them beat. If thats the best you can come up with I suggest you leave this forum and do not return. I dont know who you are but with your sledging abilities I can already see that you will be a park cricketer your whole life, and nothing wrong with that if your playing A grade, but you will be a fat slob in F or G grade. 'the boy' will be a better cricketer than you could ever hope to be quarter as good, you talk about this Groom kid playing Mill Park 1's, which isn't hard to do mind you, but the boy would walk into Mill Park 1's and could possibly be playing district 2's. If you want to have a go mate, be able to back it up, thats all I'll say...muppet.

Hmm pretty sure Andrew Sturgess is in love with Mitch Johnson.
Quite frankly, "the boy"/Mitch has never posted big scores against NEWCC, and backed that up with another blob this weekend. (went out to Nick Vlastuin, that makes me laugh).

how the **** did tigger get mitch out for ANOTHER duck?

Re: DVCA Juniors

As for best sledges in the DVCA would have to go to Ben Abba, loves giving it in the field and can back it up with the bat.
F.Ryder also has a bit too say when his fielding, usually pretty personal stuff, but its apart of cricket.
Not too many more sledgers in the comp theres a couple from NEW, cisek has a bit too say and that kid that fields in slips who has no idea how to play the game have a bit too say.
But it's a great part of cricket and dont worry the mob where playing on the w.e when we are out in the field ill be giving it to them.

Re: DVCA Juniors

yeh true there a select few who could be playing a good district grade right now as an under 16, i would like to get "hows that" opinion and anyone else's, which players could do this?

haha you clown.
if you think thats the way, well poor you. why dont you find out the facts before you start throwing that shit around. because quite frankly it just isnt good enough mate.

get a length, if you were a half decent cricketer your name would be being thrown around in here. and you would be in the north east side. but sorry mate, doesnt your old man get you into the teams ? well thats bad luck isnt it . haha.
cant wait to play you champ.

its all a part of it , and im going to take whatever i give out.
unlike the north eltham cats the other week.

they gave out jargon all first week and as soon as the heat was turned on, and the creek vocals got switched on. complaints were made.

good luck on the weekend lads. make runs take wickets!

jevon kett is a pretty bad sledger, especially coming from a kid like him who doesnt do much with the bat. :D

Mitch johnson isnt a bad sledger, but i wouldnt sledge if that ranger from north eltham got me out.
