7. Al Mann (Down on form a little but good enough to bouce back very quickly)

He is down on form because he is no good, very overated. I believe he is a good bloke though.

Al Mann made 504 runs at 45 last year and is out of form and has already made a 72, he is fast becoming a handy bowler and anyone would be silly to leave him out of their top 11. And as for the over rated remark, not sure whats going on there.

I agree, hes in my top 11. I was just saying compared to the last few years he might be 50-60 runs below where he was. Wanderers could probably do with a couple more of him however the young kids seem to be going ok at the moment.

Next 2 rounds will be very interesting sorting out this massive bunch of teams on 2 wins. My tip is we'll start seeing Thommo and Mont seperate upward from the pack, leaving Yarrambat, Morang, Mill Park to fight it out for 5th place.

Looking at the ladder and form,

I Agree with your comments about Mont, but Thomastown, can't see it happening, don't think they'll finish top 5. They will need Matt George to continually get runs and Solly to improve massively to be a chance of beating the competing teams from 4-8 position on the ladder.

Expect them to be 3wins, 4 losses at Xmas. I don't think 5 wins for the year will get them in the 4.

Massive crunch games for Thomastown after Xmas, play Panton Hill, Whittlesea, Mont & Mill Park, I can't see them winning more than 2/4 at the most.

I think the ladder will end up like

Franks
College
Mont
North Eltham
____________

Yarrambat
Mill Park
Thomastown
Whittlesea
Panton Hill
South Morang
Bundoora
Hurstbridge

I reckon it will almost turn out that any of the teams listed 4-8 in your ladder could end up playing finals with some luck along the way. Unfortunately we can judge a team on paper and form but we all know that the season is based on being on the end of a bit of good luck too.

Agree,

Wouldn't surprise me at all if on of those in the 5-8 bracket picked up a lucky or extra win and consolidated the final four spot. If Thommo's players hit their straps they could be one, if Yarrambat begin to score their bowlers will be good enough, Whittlesea i don't think so, but you never know, need regan, abbs, molloy, king, lehner to get runs consistenly for them to have a chance, they could knock over Thomo and potentially some other teams so it's not out of the question, and everyone has talked mill park up with stewart, jonesy, groom, marshall, they are also capable.

Will be an interesting race to the finals for these teams, one loss after xmas and it could be all over.

Might be a long shot but I couldnt say that if Hursty get some luck, Jimmy Atkins get back in form with the stick and a few blokes pick up on form around him, they might be a faint show! Theyre on the bottom at the moment but only 1 game off 4th spot!

So I reckon every team bar Franks, College and Mont could play finals, I reckon these 3will make it. These next 2 rounds will definitely sort some out. See ya on the park round 6 Greg!

Is it March already because the Franks already appear to be choking.

Re: DVCA Money Shield

any half decent batting team on St.Francis ground should be getting between 250-300, very hard to bowl and field on, Franks would be happy keeping them under 300!!! Par score on that ground......

Re: DVCA Money Shield

Noone in the right mind should be bad-mouthing Al Mann.

A player of his calibre can't stay down for long.

Opens the batting every week, captains, good bloke, and has already made some scores this year. Expect more to come!

teapicker i think you are the biggst muppet on here have you seen the ground that the franks and monty played on its a 20cent coin and very fast, i think mont would have been angry with themselves on saturday for only making 280 odd, didnt the franks make 300 on a canter there the week before? and 330 the week before that at a bigger ground at morang?

with the franks batting line up they will make these runs hands down, if you dont make over 300 there then your in a bit of trouble...

berthet, duggin and wegner all due for runs. most of the runs will come from these 3 this week

and isnt it good to see college struggle haha pretenders!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Mont are an average side at best. Got pumped by Whittlesea and are going to beat the Franks by at least 100 runs. Don't worry about College. Will be sitting alone undefeated after this week.

I reckon 80% of teams if they played at Bundy United's dirty ground half the time or at Walker reserve, they would make a lot more 400's.

Average sides with 3 or 4 hard hitting batsman should be making 200-300 runs on the Franks ground, pitch is lifeless, grounds quick and small all you need is time at the crease very hard to bowl teams out on that ground. Whoever has the better batting line-up will win at that ground bowlers are pretty much going to struggle bigtime!!

And you forgot about the very average bowling attack The Franks have, which will conceed 300+ plenty more times this year.

Re: DVCA Money Shield

College 173 I think they will fall 40 short there 1st lost for the season

NEW 0/104 game over could be the 1st out right in Money so far

Mill Park 143 v Bridges 3/24 close game not sure on this one yet,can any one from Mill Park tell us whats going on down there with your batting?

Borg 2
Argent 0
Stewart they only guy who stood up and was robbed of a tone
Groom 1 dropped down the order still cant make runs
Petersen 4 must be looked at surley (GIVE THE YOUNG GUYS AGO)
Marshall 5 why is a number 11 batsman batting at 6 ? why why why ?????
Murcott 2 cant get runs at his new club why ????
Taylor 3 joining Petersen next week in the 2s
Thomas 29 should look at batting higher
Morrisey 1 LBW
Jones 3 LBW
Time to have a very hard look at whats going on down there boys.

Mont 6/288 Wunhym tone this will test the batting of the Frank if Duggin fails game over I think Mont and Mont very easy.

Thommo 162 Soly saved the best for last by the look of things Murcott 46no batting at 10 Sth Morang need to have a look at them selfs 5/54 who do they think they are Mill Park ?

Bundoora United 7/412 very good Zealley toned up and on fire Flake a tone as well not bad boys Whittlesea stop playing all these old men lets face it Avola 2/114 what the f#*@# is that Molloy to old and see two foot in front of him so why are they playing him? And King wont make more than 10 should be 1st picken in the 3s.

OK now let me have it and dont hold back this thread is starting to bore me.
