Re: DVCA Money Shield

Eltham Collegians 173 v Yarrambat 0/0: Will be enough on the big paddock
Panton Hill 9/142 v North Eltham Wanderers 0/106: Easy win, should target outright
Hurstbridge 3/24 v Mill Park 143: losing 3 early ones hurts... although not a big score. 50/50 game this one....
St Francis of Assisi v Montmorency 6/288(cc): I'll back them to chase on their ground
South Morang 5/54 v Thomastown United 162: 100 more required is too many
Whittlesea v Bundoora United 7/412(cc): Where the hell did 2 400+ scores come from?! Whit won't get that many...

College 173 I think they will fall 40 short there 1st lost for the season

NEW 0/104 game over could be the 1st out right in Money so far

Mill Park 143 v Bridges 3/24 close game not sure on this one yet,can any one from Mill Park tell us whats going on down there with your batting?

Borg 2
Argent 0
Stewart they only guy who stood up and was robbed of a tone
Groom 1 dropped down the order still cant make runs
Petersen 4 must be looked at surley (GIVE THE YOUNG GUYS AGO)
Marshall 5 why is a number 11 batsman batting at 6 ? why why why ?????
Murcott 2 cant get runs at his new club why ????
Taylor 3 joining Petersen next week in the 2s
Thomas 29 should look at batting higher
Morrisey 1 LBW
Jones 3 LBW
Time to have a very hard look at whats going on down there boys.

Mont 6/288 Wunhym tone this will test the batting of the Frank if Duggin fails game over I think Mont and Mont very easy.

Thommo 162 Soly saved the best for last by the look of things Murcott 46no batting at 10 Sth Morang need to have a look at them selfs 5/54 who do they think they are Mill Park ?

Bundoora United 7/412 very good Zealley toned up and on fire Flake a tone as well not bad boys Whittlesea stop playing all these old men lets face it Avola 2/114 what the f#*@# is that Molloy to old and see two foot in front of him so why are they playing him? And King wont make more than 10 should be 1st picken in the 3s.

OK now let me have it and dont hold back this thread is starting to bore me.

Silly comment, both times the Franks have made 300+ Duggin has made 0 & 14. Oh and forgot to mentioned Berthet made 28 & 9 in both those games to. Expect a big game from both im tipping St.Francis quite comfortably, nomore than 5 wickets lost!!

Who is the fat loud mouth freak covered in tatts and thinks he is untouchable that sits there bagging every player that goes out from Hurstbridge? It was funny to watch the guys face when Hurstbridge lost 3 for f... all cant wait to see his face when there bowled out for under 80.

And you forgot about the very average bowling attack The Franks have, which will conceed 300+ plenty more times this year.

Maybe so, but on the grounds we play on these days not easy bowling on. Bundoora 400+ two weeks in a row, St.Francis already two 300+ scores, grounds are fast, pitches are lifeless will be a tough gig bowling on some tough grounds so im sure there will be plenty of games where they get hit for 300, just like alot of other teams!!. Lucky they are good enough to chase those scores down!! :D

do u play for mill park, he's just a local that love's a drink whilst watching the cricket

Not all the grounds Specialist, not harping on anything but next round the St.Francis guys will be playing at Eltham College which is completely the other end of the scale, big lush, slow ground. Will be interesting to see how they adapt, bat all day and make a defendable score (160-190) or will they gamble and try to smash 300 again and get bowled out cheaply playing risky shots??

Why is it a silly comment ? Have you won the game yet ? Just like a Frank shoting is mouth off before the fact. It wont be a close game at all, wait and see my tiny little friend.

And that is a silly comment saying you wont lose my than 5 wickets.

- College V Bats- Interesting run chase on a very big slow dirty college ground! Bats will have to bat well and College bowl well, wont be much in it. College to win.
- Wanderers to win, not outright though.
- Hursty will just fall over the line against Mill Park.
- Mont to win in a very close game. We'll see if the Franks are the real deal this week by chasing a big score. We all know they can make one and defend it!
- Thommo to escape with a win, 5/50 odd too steep to get points from here for Morang.
- Bundy to win, however well wait and see how they go on a ground that isnt concrete. Zealley obviously enjoys playing at dirty small and quick grounds!!
They bat down to eleven but for some reason no1 is making runs other then stewy, on paper the list looks good performance not so good lots of improving to come!! my tip stewy to take out batting av maybe club champ!!!

Im aloud to be confident :p it is a silly comment because Duggin failed both times the franks scored 300+ so to say that we wont chase down 288 if Duggin fails isn't the smartest comment. Considering plenty of other bats picked up the slack when he didn't have a big day!!

Yes concussion your right Eltham College is definately a difficult ground to make runs on with the ball swinging, the pitch has more life for the bowlers and the ground slowish! Apart from that though Whittlesea very small and quick, Bundoora and St.Francis the same im just saying for people to say we have a crap bowling attack if you dont play on our ground all the time its hard to see how it effects bowlers. Alot more effort is needed, the faster bowlers wont have much to work with after 15 overs so it's really all about bowling good lines and hoping to keep the score down and make the batsman make a few mistakes along the way. We bowled Thomastown out for 139 on a new deck and South Morang almost twice on a new deck which im sure all bowlers would love bowling on. Definately a chance we will get hit for 300+ again but in saying that sides should have a few batsman good enough to post a decent score on a small and quick ground with a pitch which is lifeless and the guys who have bowled on our ground well they can tell you how hard it is you have to see the ball after 80 overs to realise whats its really like.

I think people are being a bit unfair just because Monty hit us for 288. They are a smart side, a few older guys who can hit the ball hard they will be in the 4 this year Monty still finding there feet in a different grade which is never easy!
In yours and the Franks defence specialist, I reckon everyone is forgetting 1 important thing in cricket, BOTH TEAMS HAVE TO PLAY ON THE SAME GROUND!!!!

People can slag off you guys playing at Sycamore and yeah its a small very quick ground but all the teams you have played get to bat and bowl on it as well!!!! Good luck this week, see ya at the college next round!!

Thomas

There`s 7 guys to start with....Your playing a bowling team, all these guys have open bowled. It will be 1 after the other if Hurstbride get the runs they deserve the win simple as that champ.

I have confidence in the team to chase down any score we are set whether it be 288, whether it be 150 i never take anything lightly and i know the boys are going to put in a hard week on the training track and we will give it a good crack on Saturday. It's funny everyone thinks we are cocky but we go out there every week to put in our best performance and being confident isn't about being cocky it's about knowing your teamates ability when we are up against it. That little sly comment about winning no more than 5 wickets down thats just a bit of light banter as we all do on here but we are definately not going out there thinking it will just happen for us!

HMMMM The wickets aint the problem I would be more worried about whos gunna get the runs. No J Atkins and the 3 wickets they have lost so far are the boys that have been making there runs.

I dont stutter any more thats to my friend Mas Cambios.

Is that the problem down there playing to many bowlers? I know Stewart best bat at the club. Murcott and Groom potential but no runs yet. Thomas probably second leading run scorer but they are all allrounders maybe need to play more genuine batters not relying on allrounds to get the job done.

jones hasnt made a run or taken wickets, neither has marshall? why are they still in the side their twos seem to be going alright. is it the old 'its not what you know, its who you know' perhaps.

yeah but how can jones make runs when i see he has been batting at the bottom of the order, they haven't been bowling many overs because there is so many options to choose from and like saterday they through the ball around alot they only had 23 overs to bowl and there was like five or six bowling changes so thats why they haven't been taking many wickets but they have still been getting there 1-2 wickets a game!!! still can't see them getting hursty out!

Don't try and deflect the attention away from a very ordinary effort by the Franks last week. If they are happy to concede 280 runs just to be able to blame the ground, the pitch, inferior captaincy, loud mouthed spin bowlers, Ben Cousins and George Bush, go right ahead.
Wouldn't be suprised if they are out of the 4 by Xmas.
